Boomerang Theatre Company will present, after a successful sold-out workshop production, the return of Lickspittles, Buttonholers, and Damned Pernicious Go-Betweens by award-winning playwright Johnna Adams, directed by John Hurley. Lickspittles, Buttonholers, and Damned Pernicious Go-Betweens will play a three week limited engagement at Teatro Circulo (64 East 4th Street, New York, NY 10003). Retro Productions is celebrating their 10th anniversary with, The Butter and Egg Man by George S. Kaufman. Perhaps one of Kaufman's lesser known works, The Butter and Egg Man is a wonderful comedy about producing theater and was one of Kaufman's biggest Broadway successes when it opened at the Longacre Theatre in 1925. The production is directed by Ricardo Rust who co-produced Retro Productions, An Appeal to the Woman of the House which was nominated for 3 New York Innovative Theater Awards and won an award for Heather E. Cunningham for Outstanding Actress in a Lead Role.

In this humorous allegory for the AIDS crisis in the 1980s, Anna, an unmarried schoolteacher, is diagnosed with ATD (Acquired Toilet Disease). It's fatal and mysterious, so she and her brother Carl take off for a dream tour of Europe before the inevitable happens. As Anna drowns herself in the sensuality of food and sex, Carl becomes involved in a wild Third Mannish espionage scheme to find a cure for his sister. But the cracks in the story start to widen and soon the audience becomes aware that they are engaged in Anna's fantasy attempt at keeping her brother's spirit alive when she cannot save his life.

The production will be directed by Jordana Williams (The Honeycomb Trilogy; Viral) and will feature Autumn Dornfeld* (The Graduate on Broadway; Beebo Brinker Chronicles at NYTW), Rob Maitner* (Mr. McQueen in the original cast of Urinetown!), Diana Oh (Rob Askins' P.S. Jones and the Frozen City; Mariah MacCarthy's The Foreplay Play), and Kristen Vaughan* (Amelia in The Honeycomb Trilogy; NYIT Award for Outstanding Actress in a Lead Role for Retro Productions Benefactors). The creative team will include Special Effects by Stephanie Cox-Williams, Costume Design by Amanda Jenks, Sound Design by Jeanne Travis, Lighting Design by Jennifer Linn Wilcox, and Set Design bySandy Yaklin.
