Adam Rodriguez has joined the cast of CRIMINAL MINDS as a series regular. His character will be introduced in the series' 12th season premiere this fall on the CBS Television Network.

THE VAGINA MONOLOGUES Benefit Performances Begin This Week at Atwater Village Theatre

 A who's who of film and television stars will perform Eve Ensler's The Vagina Monologues in an intimate theatrical setting for four benefit performances only on April 30, May 1, 6 & 7 at 8pm, at the Atwater Village Theatre in Los Angeles. Produced and directed by Sheena Metal for Ensemble Studio Theatre Los Angeles, all proceeds will benefit V-Day (vday.org), A Global Movement to End Violence Against Women and Girls, and protect.org, a national pro-child, anti-crime association committed to building a powerful, nonpartisan force for the protection of children from abuse, exploitation and neglect.

Theatre of NOTE's KILL ME, DEADLY to Open 4/1 at Laemmle's Fine Arts

Theatre of NOTE is proud to announce the theatrical release of  Kill Me, Deadly on Friday April 1st at Laemmle's Ahrya Fine Arts.  Kill Me, Deadly, screenplay by Bill Robens, and directed by Darrett Sanders, was originally produced as a stage play, with the world premiere at Theatre of NOTE in Hollywood in July of 2009 becoming a critically-lauded, thrice-extended, sold-out run. The production smashed box office and attendance records for the thirty-year-old theater company.

Blank Theatre to Host Benefit Staged Reading of THE BOOK OF LIZ, 7/20

Hollywood's Blank Theatre has announced a one night only staged reading of The Book of Liz by David Sedaris and Amy Sedaris, directed by Darin Anthony. The benefit event, which will raise funds for The Blank's Young Playwrights Festival (currently completing its 23rd year) is set for Monday, July 20 at 8pm at the Los Angeles LGBT Center's Renberg Theatre.

L.A. Actors' Equity Members to Vote on Union's 99-Seat Theater Proposal

As BroadwayWorld has previously reported, Actors' Equity is proposing to eliminate the Los Angeles 99-Seat Theater Agreement and instead require that all actors be paid minimum wage (currently $9 an hour in L.A. County) for rehearsals and performances.

BWW Reviews: ILove99 THE MUSICAL! Offers A Cabaret To Save Los Angeles Intimate Theatre

Due to the enormous success of their first show, Sixth Avenue presented an encore of its National Tour 'ILove99 The Musical!' cabaret event to save Los Angeles intimate theatre on Tuesday, March 24 at the Dragonfly on Hollywood's Theater Row. Produced by Adam Silver and directed by Alan Smithee (wink wink) featuring returning and additional performers, the event proved to be a real meeting of the minds for both union and non-union audience members. And what a show it was, giving both AEA union members as well as non-members a chance to enjoy great entertainment while rallying everyone to go out and encourage all union member to vote NO on the proposed union changes that could wipe out intimate theater in Los Angeles.

Impassioned members of Actors' Equity Association in Los Angeles have raised funds from within their own ranks to follow up yesterday's North Hollywood rally with a full-page ad in Wednesday's Los Angeles Times to urge a 'No' vote on the upcoming AEA advisory referendum to eliminate L.A.'s 99-Seat Theater Plan. I LOVE 99 THE MUSICAL Encores Tonight at The Dragonfly

Sixth Avenue announced an encore of its 'I Love 99 The Musical!' cabaret event to save Los Angeles intimate theatre. Produced by Adam Silver and directed by Daniel Henning, the curtain will go up once again, featuring returning and additional performers, tonight, March 24 at 8pm at The Dragonfly in Hollywood.
