On Tuesday, December 17th, members of the Broadway company of Big Fish joined forces with Sing For Your Seniors (SFYS) to bring a special holiday performance to Encore Senior Center in midtown. The musical session, hosted by Sing For Your Seniors Board Member Daniel Torres (Evita, The Woman in White, Pirate Queen) included holiday favorites and songs from Big Fish. Broadway's new musical BIG FISH will play its final performance on Sunday, December 29, 2013. This is your last chance to see two-time Tony Award winner Norbert Leo Butz (Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Catch Me If You Can), Tony Award nominee Kate Baldwin (Giant, Finian's Rainbow) and Bobby Steggert (Giant, Ragtime) onstage at the Neil Simon Theatre (250 West 52nd Street).

UnsungMusicalsCo. (UMC) will present a developmental reading of the hit 1945 musical comedy Are You With It? on December 12 at the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts' Bruno Walter Auditorium. Based on the novel Slightly Perfect by George Malcolm-Smith, the musical has a book by Emmy Award winners George Balzer & Sam Perrin ('The Jack Benny Program'), music by Academy Award nominee Harry Revel (Paris in Spring) and lyrics by Arnold B. Horwitt (Make Mine Manhattan, Plain and Fancy). UMC artistic director Ben West (Caesar's Wife, The Fig Leaves Are Falling, At Home Abroad) directs the reading.

Susan Stroman Announces BIG FISH Cast Album in the Works!

The Broadway musical Big Fish will play its final performance on Sunday, December 29, 2013, but the show will have a life after its run at the Neil Simon Theatre. A 92Y representative confirmed that, Susan Stroman, who was a panelist at last night's 'From Book to Screen: Big Fish- A Conversation with the Creative Team' at the 92Y, revealed that an original cast album is on the way. Additional details have not yet been announced.

On Monday, October 29, Jim Caruso's Cast Party, Birdland's 'extreme' open mic, was proud to present a new monthly segment called MENTOR MONDAYS, which pairs up-and-coming singers and composers with established artists to create a featured performance for the historic Birdland stage. For the premiere segment, producer Trevor McQueen paired composer Eric Dietz, a recent Carnegie Mellon University graduate with one of the current stars of Big Fish, Kirsten Scott. Scott premiered a new Dietz composition called 'No Good,' with Matt Aument at the piano. Scroll down for photos from the concert!

Norbert Leo Butz Out of BIG FISH Tonight Due to Illness

BroadwayWorld has just learned that Norbert Leo Butz, who is currently leading BIG FSH at the Neil Simon Theatre, will be out of the show tonight, October 10, due to illness. Butz revealed to BroadwayWolrd's Richard Ridge on Sunday's opening night that he was feeling 'under the weather.' Understudy Ben Crawford will step in for Butz in his absence.

In today's New York Times 'In Performance' video, Tony Award winner Norbert Leo Butz, who portrays Edward Bloom in the new Broadway musical BIG FISH, sings the number 'Fight the Dragons,' in which he shares his love of telling stories with his young son.
