PBS's Great Performances and Pacific Symphony, led by Music Director Carl St.Clair, pay tribute to America's history and celebrate the historic American immigrant experience with a special Independence Day weekend program of composer Peter Boyer's Grammy-nominated contemporary classical work a?oeEllis Island: The Dream of America,a?? broadcast nationally on PBS on Friday, July 3 at 9 p.m. (PDT).

Best known as the world's leading producer of state-of-the-art audio recordings of contemporary and classic plays, L.A. Theatre Works has put together a package of five productions that can be enjoyed by listeners of all ages.

Presented by OneWest Bank, Coney Island Christmas, a "Jewish Christmas show" for people of all ages and all faiths, introduces us to Shirley Abramowitz (played by Isabella Acres) a young Jewish girl who, much to her immigrant parents' exasperation, is cast as Jesus in the school's Christmas pageant. Michael Attenborough will direct Steven Mackintosh and David Morrissey in the European premiere of Neil LaBute's three hander, In a Dark Dark House, which runs at the Almeida from November 20th -January 17th, with press night on November 27th. In a Dark Dark House is designed by Lez Brotherston, with lighting by Howard Harrison and sound by Howard Wood. Final casting will be announced shortly.

Michael Attenborough will direct the European premiere of Neil LaBute's new play, In a Dark Dark House, which runs at the Almeida from 20 November 2008 - 17 January 2009, with press night on 27 November. In a Dark Dark House is designed by Lez Brotherston, with lighting by Howard Harrison and sound by Howard Wood.

The 2009 season at the Almeida Theatre will include five premieres, two major revivals and a Shakespeare.
