This new residency program grants selected artists the use of the venue for a month and the resources needed to develop a project of their choice that will be presented at the end of their one-month term.

With book, lyrics, & direction by Marc Acito (Broadway's Allegiance) and music & lyrics by Amy Engelhardt (Grammy nominees The Bobs), performances begin June 14 at the cell. Opening is slated for Thursday, June 22.

Producing Founding Artistic Director Liz Flemming, Associate Artistic Director, Ethan Paulini and Out of the Box Theatrics announced their 2018. The season will open with Adam Rapp's Nocturne followed by Cheryl Stern's new musical Shoes and Baggage and closing out the season will be James Lapine and Stephen Sondheim's Into the Woods. Early Bird Subscriptions ($75) are now available. Regular subscriptions priced ($93) go on sale January 22. Single tickets ($30-$42) go on sale February 12. Also in 2018, OOTB will offer it's new #Box4All program. For each production an extremely limited number of $15 tickets will be available to audience members under 25. "It's not unusual to be loved by anyone…" Admittedly, this is the wrong Tom Jones and yes, I may have stolen this little pun from the show's opening narrative, but that Mr. Jones was on the perfect track to describing what chaos ensues in the life of a man whom everyone adores: the literary Tom Jones. A man who cannot limit his constant self-indulgence but is yet still seen as a good man despite his ill reputed sexual conquests. As a disgrace to both his family and a disappointment to those who truly feel for him, his reputation is one that follows him as a sort of fate; and to reverse fate, some pretty drastic things have to happen. Turn all of this into a musical and what we now have is Bastard Jones, an incredibly clever, zany and sexy raucous of a show that is as funny as it is profound. Now in performances at the Cell, this is just the sort of guilty fun that everyone is looking for and, for a little over two hours, will bring such joy to your heart and a "tingle" to everywhere else - prepare yourselves indeed.

the cell presents the US Premiere of South African drama YEAR OF THE BICYCLE by Joanna Evans. Directed by Shariffa Aliby, it is presented as the centerpiece of the 2nd annual C.M.O.R.E. Irish Repertory Theatre (Charlotte Moore, Artistic Director and Ciaran O'Reilly, Producing Director) announced today an extension of the cell's (Nancy Manocherian, Founding Artistic Director and Kira Simring, Artistic Director) acclaimed production of CRACKSKULL ROW, by Honor Molloy. Directed by Kira Simring (Hard Times: An American Musical), CRACKSKULL ROW began previews on February 3, 2017 and officially opened February 10 at Irish Rep Theatre (132 West 22nd Street) in the W. Scott McLucas Studio Theatre. CRACKSKULL ROW will now run through March 26, 2017.
