A conversation program with acclaimed artist Kiki Smith and Dr. Alexander Nagel of the Institute of Fine Arts responding to the medieval manuscripts in the current exhibition, Crossing Borders: Manuscripts from the Bodleian Libraries, will take place on Thursday, January 17 at 6:30 pm at The Jewish Museum. In Writers & Artists Respond: Kiki Smith and Dr. Alexander Nagel, Smith and Nagel will use their individual artistic and research practices to frame the discussion. =Nagel's most recently published work, Medieval Modern: Art out of Time (2012, Thames and Hudson), will be available for purchase in the Museum's Cooper Shop after the event. This program continues Writers and Artists Respond, a series of thought provoking discussions and performances by artists, musicians and writers in The Jewish Museum's galleries.

The AIE mission is two-fold - to create the highest quality art exhibitions for ambassador residences, embassies, and consulates overseas, and to further the Department's cultural diplomacy outreach through the sponsorship of artist exchanges that foster cross-cultural understanding.

Multi-media Conceptual artist Yoko Ono will be honored at the tenth annual Women in the Arts luncheon today, November 15, 2012. Proceeds from the event will benefit the many educational and artistic programs offered by the Brooklyn Museum and its Elizabeth A. Sackler Center for Feminist Art.

England's Bodleian Library at Oxford University, established by Sir Thomas Bodley in 1602 and now the largest of the University's group of 'Bodleian Libraries', is home to a collection of medieval Hebrew illuminated manuscripts. The Jewish Museum will present Crossing Borders: Manuscripts from the Bodleian Libraries from September 14, 2012 through February 3, 2013. This exhibition will feature over 60 works - Hebrew, Arabic, and Latin manuscripts - the majority of which have never been seen in the United States. Several paintings and printed books will also be on view.

Yesterday, May 16, Lincoln Center unveiled its brand new space, The Claire Tow Theatre. This latest theatrical venue on the complex will be the new home to LCT's programming initiative LCT3. It is now also the centerpiece of a $42 million, 23,000 square foot structure on the roof of the Vivian Beaumont Theater which also includes rehearsal and office space. It is the first live performance theater to open at Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts in over 40 years.
