BroadwayWorld.com is proud once again to announce the nominations for the BroadwayWorld Chicago Awards, Chicago's only comprehensive, fan-voted theater award now in its 4th fabulous year. And the Bohemian Theatre Ensemble leads the way, with a whopping 15 nominations overall, including 10 for its summer production of 'Kiss of the Spider Woman.' Chicago Shakespeare Theater is next overall, with 12 nods, spread out over an impressive 7 different productions, including 'Othello: The Remix,' 'Henry VII,' 'The School for Lies' and its Shakespeare in the Parks production of 'The Comedy of Errors,' nominated as Best Theatrical Event.

Casting for Sebastian Barry's poignant story of a man left behind by history, 'The Steward of Christendom,' featuring two-time Tony Award-winner Brian Dennehy, has been completed and rehearsals have begun for the Mark Taper Forum presentation, November 26, 2013, through January 5, 2014. Five world premiere plays and three new adaptations seen first by Chicago audiences received Jeff nominations by the Jeff Awards Committee and are among the 166 nominations in 36 categories announced for Chicago Equity theatrical productions opened between August 1, 2012 and July 31, 2013.

The Glimmerglass Festival's Alice Busch Opera Theater stage was alight Saturday night with the opening of Lerner and Loewe's Camelot. This musical adaptation of T.H. White's The Once and Future King tells the story of King Arthur, his wife Guenevere and faithful friend Sir Lancelot, as they all struggle to preserve their kingdom's grand, romantic ideals against the will of fate. According to Chris Jones, Chicago Tribune critic, the Goodman Theatre's revival of The Iceman Cometh may be coming to Broadway next year

Writers Theatre Executive Director Kathryn M. Lipuma and Artistic Director Michael Halberstam announce a two-week extension of the critically-acclaimed and wildly popular production of The Liar, adapted by David Ives from the classic by Corneille. The production now runs through runs August 11, 2013 atWriters Theatre, 325 Tudor Court, Glencoe, IL. David Greig's Yellow Moon, which began its run at Writers' on April 16, 2013, at 664 Vernon Ave, will close on July 14, 2013.
