Writers’ Theatre Presents A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC, Now thru 7/8

Writers' Theatre continues its 20th Anniversary Season with A Little Night Music, music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, book by Hugh Wheeler, directed by William Brown. The production runs tonight, May 1 through July 8, 2012 at Writers' Theatre, 325 Tudor Court in Glencoe. The press opening is May 10, 2012 at 7:30 p.m.

Goodman Theatre's THE ICEMAN COMETH Extends Run Thru 6/17

Due to high demand for tickets, Goodman Theatre extends Robert Falls' major revival of The Iceman Cometh with six additional performances through June 17. O'Neill's monumental drama is led by Tony Award-winners Nathan Lane and Brian Dennehy. Tickets start at $61 for the added performances (prices are subject to change) and can be purchased at GoodmanTheatre.org, by phone at 312.443.3800 or at the box office (170 North Dearborn).

THE DOYLE & DEBBIE SHOW to Close in Chicago, 5/27

lonesome road productions, in association with Jim Jensen and Lisselan Productions, announce the final seven weeks of Chicago performances for the critically-acclaimed hit, the Doyle & Debbie show, created by Bruce Arntson, and starring Bruce Arntson, Jenny Littleton and Matt Carlton. The show, playing at The Royal George Cabaret, will close May 27, 2012.

Kate Arrington Joins Cast of Goodman Theatre's ICEMAN COMETH

Rehearsal are now underway for Robert Falls' revival of Eugene O'Neill's The Iceman Cometh at Goodman Theatre, and there is a last-minute cast change, according to the Chicago Tribune. Kate Arrington will replace Jennifer Engstrom as Cora.

CST's TIMON OF ATHENS Complete Cast Announced, Will Feature Sean Fortunato, James Newcomb Danforth Comins

Chicago Shakespeare Theater (CST) announced today casting for its 25th Anniversary Season finale, William Shakespeare's rarely produced Timon of Athens, directed by CST Artistic Director Barbara Gaines and featuring Tony Award winner Ian McDiarmid in the title role. Performed in CST's Courtyard Theater from April 24 to June 10, 2012, Gaines' production also features Sean Fortunato as Flavius, James Newcomb as Apemantus and Danforth Comins as Alcibiades.

CST and Benito Juarez Announce ¡SHAKESPEARE EN CORTO! Performance, 3/27

Chicago Shakespeare Theater (CST) announced today a special performance of Short Shakespeare! The Taming of the Shrew at Benito Juarez Community Academy Performing Arts Center in Chicago's Pilsen neighborhood on Saturday, March 24 at 7 p.m. The 75-minute abridged production of Shakespeare's battle of the sexes-presented in English with projected Spanish translation and featuring a prologue by leading members of the Pilsen community-is part of CST's ongoing partnership with Benito Juarez Community Academy (BJCA).

Artistic Director Robert Falls just announced the cast for his major revival of Eugene O'Neill's The Iceman Cometh at Goodman Theatre running April 21 - June 10, 2012 in the Goodman's Albert Theatre. As previously announced, Falls' production features Tony Award-winning stage and screen stars Nathan Lane as Theodore "Hickey" Hickman, and Brian Dennehy as Larry Slade. Tickets for The Iceman Cometh go on sale this Friday, February 3 at 12 noon (CST) by web and telephone; call 312.443.3800 or visit GoodmanTheatre.org. FOLLIES Closes At Chicago Shakespeare 11/13

Chicago Shakespeare Theater's extension of its celebrated 25th Anniversary Season opening production of Stephen Sondheim and James Goldman's Follies, directed by CST Associate Artistic Director Gary Griffin will close today, November 13, 2011, in CST's Courtyard Theater. The production features a company of more than 40 actors and musicians that includes Olivier Award nominees Brent Barrett as Benjamin Stone and Caroline O'Connor as Phyllis Rogers Stone, with Robert Petkoff as Buddy Plummer, Susan Moniz as Sally Durant Plummer and Chicago musical theater favorite Hollis Resnik as Carlotta Campion.
