Writers Theatre Extends THE LIAR Through 8/11; YELLOW MOON to Close 7/14

By:

Writers Theatre Executive Director Kathryn M. Lipuma and Artistic Director Michael Halberstam announce a two-week extension of the critically-acclaimed and wildly popular production of The Liar, adapted by David Ives from the classic by Corneille. The production now runs through runs August 11, 2013 atWriters Theatre, 325 Tudor Court, Glencoe, IL. David Greig's Yellow Moon, which began its run at Writers' on April 16, 2013, at 664 Vernon Ave, will close on July 14, 2013.

The Liar: Hours after arriving in Paris, the charismatic Dorante is smitten by a pair of comely young ladies and confounded by a case of mistaken identity. Not to worry, this scoundrel is handsome, charming-and a pathological liar. He wins admirers wherever he goes...so long as he never has to tell the truth! Misunderstandings, secret agendas, and witty wordplay abound in this delightfully ingenious and irreverent update of a classic French romp.

Featuring: Samuel Ashdown, LaShawn Banks*, Nate Burger, Kalen Harriman, Michael Perez*, Laura Rook*, Anne E. Thompson and Jonathan Weir*.

Creative Team: Scenic Designer Keith Pitts, USA; Costume Designer Rachel Anne Healy, USA; Lighting Designer Jesse Klug, USA; Sound Designer Andrew Hansen; Properties Designer Julie Eberhardt; and Production Stage Manager David Castellanos*.

Yellow Moon: This is the ballad of Leila and Lee-a modern-day Bonnie and Clyde who learn that they aren't alone in the world the night that they discover each other. Their wild ramble across the Scottish highlands in search of an absent father is told in a series of lyrical narratives that will immerse audiences in the action, forging a breathless drama of beauty in the darkness.

Yellow Moon stars Karen Janes Woditsch (Jenni/Holly), Josh Salt (Lee), Ashleigh Lathrop (Leila) and John Lister (Billy/Frank)

Creative team: Kevin Depinet (Scenic Design), Rachel Anne Healy (Costumes), Nick Heggestad (Props), Lee Fiskness (Lighting),Christopher Kriz (Original Music and Sound), Eva Breneman (Dialect Coach), Becky Pechter (Stage Manager)
