Meadow Brook Theatre's 2016-2017 season kicks-off with a benefit concert then takes to the stage with Michigan Premieres including a Ken Ludwig comedy, a comedy with a heart, a poignant drama AND a 1960s musical! The season also features the music of Irving Berlin and a musical comedy sure to please with Boy-Band-esque song and dance numbers! Theatreworks USA will continue its 2016 weekend family performance series this Saturday, February 27th, with Charlotte's Web, a play by Joseph Robinette based on the Newbery Medal-winning book by E.B. White (Stuart Little, Trumpet of the Swan) with an incidental music score by Jeffrey Lunden (winner of the Lortel Award, Rodgers Award, and Jonathan Larson Award, and composer of Theatreworks USA productions of Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, The Little Prince, and The Great Railroad Race). This 60-minute play is recommended for audiences age 5 and up.
Theatreworks USA will continue its 2016 weekend family performance series this Saturday, February 13th, with Henry and Mudge? was adapted by bookwriter/lyricist Kait Kerrigan and composer/lyricist Brian Lowdermilk (Jonathan Larson Award-winners) and is based on the best-selling books by Cynthia Rylant, illustrated by Sucie Stevenson. Henry and Mudge premiered Off-Broadway in July 2006 at the Lucille Lortel Theatre. This 60-minute musical is recommended for ages 4 and up.
