Pipeline Theatre Company (Ari Schrier, Artistic Director; Natalie Gershtein, Producing Director) is proud to announce the world premiere of jazz concert-party-play hybrid PLAYING HOT, created by Kevin Armento (Balls) and Jaki Bradley (Good Men Wanted). PLAYING HOT is written by Armento, will be directed by Bradley, and will feature music direction by Marcus Miller, and will premiere in early 2019 as part of Pipeline's 10th Anniversary Season.

Kevin Armento's play puts the narratives of five different and complex women on stage; whilst at the same time places an intense glare upon Bill Clinton's illicit relationship with Monica Lewinsky.

Slyly exhuming the little blue dress that launched the biggest media circus of a generation, the five women who were at the centre of this infamous scandal collide on stage: A First Lady, a secretary, a daughter, a confidant, and an intern. A theatrical battle emerges over how it all went down, who were the heroes and villains, and why, twenty years later, we're only beginning to grapple with one of the most challenging questions in American political history: How do we respond to women seeking power, and the men who abuse that power?

One Year Lease Theater Company, Stages Repertory Theatre, and the cast and creative team of BALLS celebrated their opening night at the full-sized model apartment within the 53w53 Sales Gallery.

Balls, an exciting and inventive production, is now being performed at 59E59 Theaters through February 25. Written by Kevin Armento and Bryony Lavery, it is directed by Ianthe Demos and Nick Flint with movement direction by Natalie Lomonet. This is a stunning show that creatively portrays the infamous tennis match between Bobby Riggs and Billie Jean King and situations surrounding it.

In what has become an annual ritual, a total of 36 established and emerging composers, lyricists, and librettists will converge on the Goodspeed campus from mid-January through mid-February 2018 to participate in the Johnny Mercer Foundation Writers Colony at Goodspeed Musicals. The writing teams, representing 18 new musicals, will populate the campus, creating a truly exciting environment for discovery and inspiration.

59E59 Theaters (Val Day, Artistic Director; Brian Beirne, Managing Director) is thrilled to launch the 2018 Subscription Series with BALLS, written by Kevin Armento and Bryony Lavery and directed by Ianthe Demos and Nick Flint with movement direction byNatalie Lomonte. Produced by One Year Lease Theater Company and Stages Repertory Theatre,BALLS begins performances on Tuesday, January 16 for a limited engagement through Sunday, February 25. The highly original coming of age story PLEASE EXCUSE MY DEAR AUNT SALLY from emerging playwright Kevin Armento features an unconventional narrator: the cell phone belonging to a 15-year-old Red McCray, a troubled teen enduring the break-up of his parents and moving to a new town. Audience members might recognize the play's title from their high school days a mnemonic, or memory aid, for the order of operations needed to solve an algebraic equation (parentheses, exponents, multiply, divide, add, subtract), which comes into play in Red's algebra class when his clowning antics cause his teacher to take his cell phone away and throw it into her desk drawer.
