BroadwayWorld has teamed up with Broadway alum Ilana Levine, who makes her entrance onto the podcast stage with her new show Little Known Facts. Ilana's unique brand of celebrity interview, 'Podcast Verite,' is unfiltered, raw, honest and uniquely funny.

The Basement hits the stage with their second production, following up their debut earlier this year, with a brand new comedy from Jeff Swearingen, The Caveman Play. Knowing how to pick a venue, this emerging theatre group embarks on their first appearance at The Festival of Independent Theatres, one of the city's most time honored theatrical traditions, now in it's 19th year and known for launching the careers of many professional actors and exposing wide ranging audiences to new companies.

Atlantic Theater Company has announced that the New York premiere play Animal by Clare Lizzimore (Mint) and directed by Gaye Taylor Upchurch (Harper Regan, Bluebird) has been extended an additional week through Sunday, July 2 in advance of officially opening next Tuesday, June 6.

Second Stage Theater's (Carole Rothman, Artistic Director) production of SOMEBODY'S DAUGHTER has been extended by one week and will now play through Sunday, June 25.

The American Theatre Wing (Heather Hitchens, President) and The Village Voice (Peter Barbey, Owner) just presented the 62nd Annual Obie Awards®. Jennifer Kidwell & Scott R. Sheppard's Underground Railroad Game, produced by Ars Nova, and J.T. Roger's Oslo, produced by Lincoln Center Theater, shared the Obie Awards for Best New American Theatre Work, which is accompanied by a $500 prize each. Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Paula Vogel received a special Obie Award for Lifetime Achievement. Obie and Screen Actors Guild® Award-winning actress Lea DeLaria returned as host of this year's ceremony, which was held at Webster Hall (125 East 11th Street).

Acclaimed Off-Broadway theater company Playwrights Horizons will hold its annual Spring Gala on Monday evening, May 8, at the event space 583 Park Avenue. Titled A CELEBRATION OF SONG, the evening will honor three of the company's exceptional alumni writers: Tony Award nominee Scott Frankel (Grey Gardens and Far From Heaven at Playwrights), Tony Award nominee Michael Korie (Grey Gardens and Far From Heaven at Playwrights) and Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winner Doug Wright (I Am My Own Wife and Grey Gardens at Playwrights). Amazon's Academy Award winning film, MANCHESTER-BY-THE-SEA, arrives on Prime for members to stream on Friday, May 5. To celebrate the film Amazon will give every home in the town of Manchester-by-the-Sea, MA one year of Amazon Prime and a 3-pack of Wickedly Prime Popcorn.

4th Wall Theatre Company will open the Houston premiere of LOBBY HERO on May 12, playing through June 3. I spoke with one of the show's co-directors, Kim Tobin-Lehl, the other day, and gained perspective about the thought behind bringing LOBBY HERO to the 4th Wall stage and what it took to develop this production.

Playwrights Horizons (Artistic Director, Tim Sanford; Managing Director, Leslie Marcus) has announced that the score for their World Premiere production of the musical IOWA has been preserved as an Original Cast Recording, produced by Michael Croiter (Matilda, The Visit, Big Fish) and Todd Almond. IOWA is written by Jenny Schwartz (God's Ear, Somewhere Fun) with music by Todd Almond (Girlfriend) and lyrics by Ms. Schwartz and Mr. Almond.
