Milwaukee Chamber Theatre Extends Deadline For Sustainability Campaign Challenge

Milwaukee Chamber Theatre announces a $150,000 challenge match as part of its ongoing Sustainability Campaign launched earlier this month to provide the financial foundation necessary to avoid closure. In doing so, MCT will restructure organizationally to continue its five-decade leadership of developing Milwaukee and Wisconsin's professional artists and continue to reflect its community through meaningful and excellent live theater productions.

Kenneth “Ken” Williams, who wrote/co-wrote over 500 songs, including the classic R&B hit “Everybody Plays The Fool,” died June 17, 2022 at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, New York announced his wife, Broadway actress/singer Mary Seymour Williams.

On July 30, I had a great time backstage at the Sheen Center, interviewing Grammy and Tony-nominated singer/actress Vanessa Williams, Executive Director of The Sheen Center for Thought & Culture William Spencer Reilly and Drama Desk Award-winner Ken Jennings (Broadway's Sweeney Todd, Side Show, Grand Hotel) about the Center's exciting lineup for their fall season. This was followed by a sneak peek at some of the events, introduced by Williams to an audience of supporters.

The Gettysburg Community Theatre, located at 49 York Street within the first block of Lincoln Square in downtown Gettysburg, presented over 80 performances to the community in 2013. The non profit theatre organization is now celebrating its sixth year in downtown Gettysburg and will present its annual Gala Benefit on Friday, March 7th at 6:30pm at The Gettysburg Hotel Ballroom.
