Florida Studio Theatre (FST) announces the onsale of single tickets for its 11th Annual Sarasota Improv Festival. Over the course of two days (July 12 and 13), thousands of people will travel to this destination event to see some of the world's best improvisers from across the United States and as far as Canada and the United Kingdom. The premier Festival of its kind in the southeast United States, the 11th Annual Sarasota Improv Festival presents 27 performances by over 90 artists in just 48 hours. Single tickets for this year's Festival headliner, Quartet, are now on sale for $25 each. Single tickets to all other performances are just $8-10 each. All Festival tickets and passes are now on sale and may be purchased at 941-366-9000, or at floridastudiotheatre.org.

Florida Studio Theatre (FST) is proud to announce that the Annual Sarasota Improv Festival will return for its 11th year on Friday, July 12 and Saturday, July 13, 2019. Since its founding by Rebecca Hopkins in 2009, the Sarasota Improv Festival has become a destination event, and the premier Festival of its kind in the Southeastern United States. This year's Festival will bring together over 20 of the top improv troupes from across the nation and as far as Canada and the UK to Florida's Gulf Coast for a weekend of spontaneous comedy. The full Festival lineup will be announced May 3. Festival passes go on sale Friday, May 3, and single tickets will go on sale the week of June 17.

The 50-Hour Improvathon, an epic improvised comedy soap opera in 25 hilarious episodes staged over a single weekend and starring many of the world's leading improvisers, is one of London's must-see-to-be-believed annual comedy highlights.

Metro Detroit will be the center of the comedy universe as top names in sketch and improvisational comedy arrive for the eighth annual Detroit Improv Festival August 8-12. Headlined by Paul F. Tompkins, this year's festival will take place over four venues in Ferndale with more than 60 improv troupes from across the US and Canada performing in more than 20 shows, there will be something for everyone.

Originally conceived by artistic director Scott Miller over 20 years ago, OUT ON BROADWAY (THE THIRD COMING), is, as titled, the third incarnation of a revue designed to reinterpret songs from an array of classic and offbeat, but brilliant, musicals ( this time with a new song from Jason Robert Brown, 'Hope'). This production acts to show just how much these works still retain their emotion, even when the players in each are now gay. I can assure you that the meaning remains, and so does the depth of feeling. It's a collection of over 30 pieces that are arranged to weave together a kind of narrative. Some people might find some of the choices obscure, but that actually adds to the charm for me, because then I'm exposed to things that I'll want to seek out afterwards. I'm late with this review, so forgive me, but life intrudes sometimes. But, if you didn't catch it you really missed an exceptional theatrical cabaret of sorts, which was truly wonderful, and which I hope sparks a fourth coming!

While fans await the highly anticipated second season of TBS's hit comedy series PEOPLE OF EARTH, the network will present Alien-ish Week, an entire week of sci-fi, geek, alien and monster-themed programming starting Monday, July 17.

The networks' presence at the annual gathering will feature all-star panels and immersive attractions, including a multi-sensory People of Earth virtual reality experience that allows fans to experience what it feels like to be abducted by aliens and a Wrecked Pop-Up Island docked in the marina behind the San Diego Convention Center.
