True made-up stories! Zany characters! Rib-cracking laughter! All spontaneous and on the spot! Bringing together some of the best, award-winning improvisers in Toronto, The Harold Experience is an improv comedy show during which the audience helps unique characters shape the stories they see unfold on stage. Weaving together fictional elements with real life narrative, the improvisors connect the pieces for a show that's fascinating, satisfying, and always hilarious. The Harold Experience is the first foray into a festival piece for The Assembly, Toronto's newest improv company.

Directed by Rob Norman (Second City Touring Company), the show is stacked with Canadian Comedy Award and Dora Award winners and nominees, plus familiar faces from your favourite TV shows. The cast features Second City alumni and local favourites, including Rob Baker (Bad Dog Theatre, Bonspiel!), Ashley Botting (Cam Baby, CBC's Because News), Adam Cawley (Guidance, Mantown), Matt Folliott (The Sketchersons, Chad Mallett), Ken Hall (TBS' People of Earth, 2-MAN NO-SHOW), Becky Johnson (The Sufferettes, All Our Happy Days Are Stupid) and Paloma Nunez (Spotlight, CBC's Baroness Von Sketch Show).

The Assembly is Toronto's only improv company dedicated to game-based longform improv, a style created by Amy Poehler and her company, The Upright Citizen's Brigade. The Assembly was formed when twelve longform teams, previously housed at the Second City Training Centre, banded together to create a new company. After less than a year, The Assembly is home to fourteen teams with four monthly shows, a high-demand education program with more than sixty students, as well as a tight-knit community.

Whether you're a comedy enthusiast, a fan of great storytelling, or just want to bear witness to an entire show made up seamlessly on the spot, The Harold Experience is a must-see show at the Next Stage Festival. Since each performance is completely unique, you're encouraged to see it again and again for a new experience every single time.
