Writer Damon Runyon invented Broadway - and Broadway invented the American Musical! Connecticut Repertory Theatre (CRT) will open its 2011 Nutmeg Summer Series with the classic American musical, Guys and Dolls based on Runyon's comic tales of Broadway running June 2-12 in the Harriet S. Jorgensen Theatre (Lower Jorgensen).

The show opens on Friday, April 1, and will be presented Friday and Saturday evenings and Sunday afternoons through April 10. All performances are at the theater in the Union Avenue Christian Church, 733 Union Ave.

Wallenberg, a new musical drama starring Scott Mikita (Broadway's The Phantom of the Opera) opened this past Saturday night, October 30, at the White Plains Performing Arts Center. The opening night celebration was held at Blue in White Plains. Wallenberg, which launches WPPAC's 5-show mainstage season, will run through November 21, 2010.
