The Windham Theatre Guild will hold Open Auditions for their November production of The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.

The show centers around a fictional spelling bee in Putnam County. Six kids face off in the battle of their lives. They compete against each other as well as members of the audience. Three adults help adjudicate the proceedings: a nostalgic former spelling bee winner, a mildly insane Vice Principal and The Official Comfort Counselor completing his community servIce To the state.

Tuesday and Wednesday, September 6th & 7th at 7:00 PM at the Windham Middle School, Quarry Street, Willimantic (please arrive promptly at 7pm). The audition will include vocal, acting and improvisational sequences. Please prepare a musical number for the vocal audition. Piano accompaniment will be provided. Readings from the script will be provided that evening.

WHO: Roles are available for 3 men & 3 women (16 and up) to portray middle school aged spelling bee contestants and for 2 men & 1 woman (18 and up) to portray adult roles

MUSICAL DIRECTOR: Ken Clark

PRODUCTION DATES: November 4, 5, 11, 12, 13, 17, 18 & 19, 2011 at the Burton Leavitt Theatre, 779 Main Street, Willimantic, CT.
