TABOO's Liz McCartney Joins ONWARD VICTORIA Concert Lineup at Feinstein's/54 Below

A one-night-only concert reading of ONWARD VICTORIA will be presented at Feinstein's/54 Below on Tuesday, July 19th at 7:00pm. Taboo star Liz McCartney (Annie, Phantom of the Opera, Mamma Mia and more) will join the previously announced Lenny Wolpe, Bethe Austin, Branch Fields and more. Wolpe and Austin both appeared in the original production and will reprise their roles. The short-lived 1980 musical chronicles the first female candidate for President of the United States.

As of this spring, Seth Bisen-Hersh has produced, emceed and accompanied over 400 showcases at Don't Tell Mama during the past 9 years. To celebrate, he has invited 74 showcase alumni to return to the stage in 5 concerts of his songs in what he deems: Seth's 400th Showcase Nonapalooza! The five concerts will be: Today, May 3rd; Today, May 10th; Friday, May 13th; Monday, May 16th; and Today, May 24th, all at 7PM. Shows are all at 7PM at Don't Tell Mama, 343 W. 46th St. There is a $12 cover and 2 drink minimum. Reservations can be made by calling 212-757-0788 after 4 or going online to donttellmamanyc.com/shows. The list of performers is below.

Five plays by Steven Carl McCasland will be presented in repertory during a month-long celebration of the young playwright. Each play focuses on a different character from history, with a cast of 25 portraying such historical figures as Laurette Taylor, Rose Kennedy, Tennessee Williams, Agatha Christie, Joseph Goebbels, Gertrude Stein, Lillian Hellman and John F. Arbender Robinson (Broadway's Les Miserables, Beautiful and The Book of Mormon) and nightlife personality Witti Repartee join Beautiful Soup Theater for an evening of stories and songs.
Celebrating the music and life of Billie Holiday, whose life inspired Steven Carl McCasland's Shades Of Blue: The Decline & Fall Of Lady Day, this concert evening will benefit Beautiful Soup's World Premiere Production of that play. The previously announced Shades Of Blue... will run in repertory with McCasland's What Was Lost, a study of Laurette Taylor and Tennessee Williams at The Dorothy Strelsin Theatre beginning August 27th.

Beautiful Soup Theater's has announced that their revival of Ferenc Molnar's Liliom will open at The Celebration of Whimsy [formerly The Living Theatre] in New York City on February 26th, 2014. Performances will play Wednesday through Saturday at 7:00pm, with Saturday and Sunday matinees at 2pm. The run will conclude on March 9th.
