Theatre Under The Stars' (TUTS) Humphreys School of Musical Theatre (HSMT) presents the talented, young cast of AMERICAN IDIOT, which runs September 15-16 in Zilkha Hall at the Hobby Center for the Performing Arts.

The Houston Symphony celebrates the whimsical world of Dr. Seuss with a semi-staged, orchestral version of “Green Eggs and Ham” at 10 and 11:30 a.m. Saturday, April 29, 2017.Led by Associate Conductor Robert Franz, the animated, fun-filled celebration of Dr. Seuss at the Symphony will also feature familiar music from animated television classics and lively musical works that capture the imagination.

Nationally recognized, The Humphreys School of Musical Theatre (HSMT) Academy Program will present their annual production of SCROOGE this holiday season. This year's production, comprised of 18 homeschooled student actors, will run November 29 through December 2, 2016 at Theatre Under The Stars as a part of HSMT's student matinee series.

Her signature umbrella carries her to the Banks' home to set things right, and with a little practicality and a lot of magic she has the power to change the ordinary into the extraordinary.

Theatre Under The Stars (TUTS) presents Disney and Cameron Mackintosh's MARY POPPINS. The story of the beloved nanny flies to the stage tonight, March 8, through March 20, 2016 in Sarofim Hall at the Hobby Center for the Performing Arts.

The audiences at Miller Outdoor Theatre got a big, fat welcome back to the early 1960s, where tall hair and bright, jarring outfits were all the rage, thanks to TUTS' Humphreys School of Musical Theatre's fun and boisterous production of HAIRSPRAY. With a pastiche score by Marc Shaiman and Scott Whitman and witty book by Mark O'Donnell and Thomas Meehan HAIRSPRAY is a faithful musical version of John Waters' 1988 film of the same name. The story follows larger-than-life Tracy Turnblad as she tries to secure a coveted spot on the famous Corny Collins Show -- no easy task thanks to the show's producer, Velma Von Tussle and her daughter, Amber. Backed by her doting father Wilbur, plus-sized and hesitant mother Edna, and sheltered best friend Penny, Tracy won't let anything stop her as she sets out to change Baltimore, and the world, for good. The stage was full of wonderful performers, so much so that it was difficult to choose whom to watch.

Winner of 8 Tony Awards including Best Musical, the family-friendly show will dance onto the stage in a memorable theatrical experience today, June 10, through June 12 at 11:00 a.m. and June 12 - 13 at 8:15 p.m.

Thirty-nine students from the Humphreys School of Musical Theatre have been bestowed with the honor and invited to participate in the 2015 Junior Theater Festival (JTF) held in Atlanta, Georgia on January 16, 17, and 18. Created by New York's iTheatrics and produced by the Junior Theatre group, this nationwide event is dedicated to celebrating young people and musical theatre.
