In honor and anticipation of the Tony Awards ceremony this evening, June 9, CUNY TV will celebrate the Broadway theatre with an eight-hour marathon of 'Theater Talk,' 'ATW's Working in the Theatre,' and 'TimesTalks' programs from noon till 8 p.m. that day. Then the Tony Awards ceremony begins live on the CBS Television Network.

Hugh Vanstone has won the 2013 Tony Award for Best Lighting Design of a Musical for MATILDA THE MUSICAL.

Tim Minchin, the Tony Award nominated composer of Matilda The Musical will be a guest on STUDIO 360 this weekend. Listen as he plays select songs from the hit and speaks with host Kurt Andersen about his music and lyrics for the show, which has received 12 Tony Award nominations including one for Best Musical.

For Short. Theatre Company has announced the first London production of Elihu Winer's revolutionary play, Anatomy of a Murder. This gripping court room drama is to be performed in a sight-specific courthouse venue in Blackfriars. Performances will run from today 3rd-29th June.

The award-winning revival of ANYTHING GOES (music/lyrics by Cole Porter, original book by Guy Bolton and P.G. Wodehouse, with a revision by Howard Linday and Russel Crouse, and an update by Timothy Crouse and John Weidman) arrives at the Fox Theatre in splashy and resplendent fashion, with a plethora of catchy musical numbers and a game cast. I've seen this musical several times before, it is a community theatre staple after all, but this production easily blows them all away. Sure, it's a period piece, and a bit old fashioned in some regards, but it perks along nicely thanks to an energetic cast and engaging direction and choreography. Even if you have seen it before, this presentation is well worth seeing, and a splendid time is guaranteed for all.

In a radio interview with Australia's 96FM, Tim Minchin discussed MATILDA's future plans beyond Broadway, mentioning a US tour and a film!

MATILDA THE MUSICAL was featured on ESPN this week when the Broadway hit collaborated with the Scripps National Spelling Bee to celebrate the power of words, learning and education. The 86th Annual Bee opened with a segment shot on stage at the Shubert Theatre featuring a monologue penned by the show's Tony Award nominated book writer Dennis Kelly and performed by Tony Award nominated Bertie Carvel as the terrifying Miss Trunchbull. MATILDA THE MUSICAL will be featured on "CBS This Morning" this Monday, June 3, when the show's Tony Award nominated composer and lyricist Tim Minchin and the four girls who share the title role join correspondent Mo Rocca for an interview and performance. The four "Matildas" (Sophia Gennusa, Oona Laurence, Bailey Ryon and Milly Shapiro) will each receive a Tony Honor for Excellence in the Theater.
