Violinist Yevgeny Kutik to Present MUSIC FROM THE SUITCASE at the Bickford Theatre at Morris Museum

On Saturday, December 21 at 2pm and Sunday, December 22 at 2pm, Russian-American violinist Yevgeny Kutik, known for his 'dark-hued tone and razor-sharp technique' (The New York Times) is presented by the Morris Museum in Bickford Theatre with pianist Randall Hodgkinson. This program, entitled Music from the Suitcase, features works by Prokofiev, Stravinsky, Rubinstein, and Strauss. Tickets: Non-members: $40, Museum members: $35, Students with valid ID: $25

Matthew Broderick, Sarah Jessica Parker and Brian Stokes Mitchell to Be Honored at The Actors Fund Annual Gala

The Actors Fund, the national human services organization for everyone in performing arts and entertainment, will hold its Annual Gala on Monday, April 6, 2020. The evening will celebrate Tony Award-winning actor Matthew Broderick and Emmy Award-winning actor, producer and designer Sarah Jessica Parker; Tony Award-winning actor and Chairman of The Actors Fund Brian Stokes Mitchell; Academy Award-winning producer, co-owner of the New York Football Giants, and philanthropist Steve Tisch; and American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations (AFL-CIO) President Richard L. Trumka as they receive The Actors Fund's Medal of Honor.

Holiday Pops Comes To Newark With Conductor Keith Lockhart And Special Guest, New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy

Keith Lockhart brings the Holiday Popsa?"one of New England's greatest Christmastime traditionsa?"to the New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) in Newark on Sunday, December 15, at 4 p.m. New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy joins the Boston Pops for the performance, narrating A Visit from St. Nicholas (a?oe'Twas the Night Before Christmasa??) with the orchestra (approximately 5:15 p.m.) Members of the press are invited to attend the performance.

Boston Symphony Orchestra Announces Tanglewood 2020 Seasons

The 2020 Tanglewood season, June 19 through August 30, will present major musical events, including an Andris Nelsons-led Act III of Tannhäuser, Paul Lewis performing all five Beethoven piano concertos, a weekend-long celebration of Isaac Stern on the 100th anniversary of his birth, a Boston Pops presentation of Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back under the direction of Keith Lockhart, Film Night hosted by John Williams, Thomas Adès directing the 2020 Festival of Contemporary Music, and a Popular Artist series with Ringo Starr, Trey Anastasio, and Judy Collins and Arlo Guthrie. Alongside these programs taking place in the Koussevitzky Music Shed will be intimate chamber music and recital concerts in Ozawa Hall and engaging and thought-provoking activities in the Linde Center, which opened to great popular and critical acclaim in 2019 (see separate press release for 2020 Tanglewood Learning Institute programs here).

Ann Hampton Callaway has written songs for Barbra Streisand, she wrote and sang a?oeThe Nanny Named Frana?? for TV's The Nanny, and garnered a Tony nomination for Best Actress in 2000 for her performance in Swing! on Broadway. Liz Callaway made her Broadway debut in Stephen Sondheim's Merrily We Roll Along, performed in the original cast of Miss Saigon and earned a Tony nomination for Best Actress in 1984 for her role as Lizzie in Baby. They're sisters who sing a?oeSistersa?? from White Christmas and a whole lot more from musicals to movies, and their show, Sibling Revelry has been a mainstay of New York City cabaret since 1995.

Marc Shaiman To Premiere Oscar-Nominated Song From MARY POPPINS RETURNS In Vienna

Academy Award, Golden Globe and BAFTA nominated Marc Shaiman will perform 'The Place Where Lost Things Go' from Disney's 'Mary Poppins Returns' during the annual Hollywood in Vienna gala in the City of Music, Vienna. This is a concert world premiere of this Oscar nominated song, with Marc Shaiman performing on the piano, and Keith Lockhart on the baton.

Brevard Music Center Presents 2019 Aaron Copland Festival

Brevard Music Center (BMC) will present a special 2-week "Festival Within a Festival" celebrating the works of beloved American composer Aaron Copland as part of its 2019 Summer Music Festival.
