Voting is fully underway for BroadwayWorld's 2010 Theatre Fans' Choice Awards, with thousands of votes already in and early leads established for some surprising and not so suprising early choices. Voting will continue through June 4, 2010 and anything can happen between now and then. In the meantime early leaders range from those overlooked by the TONY nominations to fan favorites. Check out the current stats below by category after the first weekend audit on the votes.

Drama Desk nominees received their official Nomination Certificates at a cocktail reception on Thursday, May 6 at Churrascaria Plataforma, New York's authentic Brazilian Steak House, 346 West 49th Street (between 8th and 9th Avenues). BroadwayWorld.com was there to share the event with you!

'I'm so excited. I'm a late sleeper so I figured last night that if there was going to be good news this morning that I'd find out when i woke up and at least get in a few more hours of my beauty sleep. My boyfriend had called to tell me the news. I just love working on this show. Kristin Chenoweth and I have known each other forever and I'm a huge fan of hers so getting to do a show with her has been great and, God, Sean Hayes is a comedic genius. He's just so generous. The reason that I can do what I do up there is because he encourages complete abandonment. I'm so glad that he's making his Broadway debut in such a huge way.'

TACT/The Actor's Company Theatre celebrated the remarkable success of its 2009/10 season and honored the accomplishments of one of the country's most renowned and recognizable actors, Sam Waterston, at its annual spring gala on Monday, May 3rd at The Edison Ballroom. The celebratory evening kicked off at 6:30 p.m. with a cocktail reception and silent auction. TACT Co-Artistic Director and company member Simon Jones served as master of ceremonies and introduced the evening's entertainment. BroadwayWorld was on hand to capture the starry arrivals.
