Producing Artistic Director Ryan Rilette directs one of the great American plays of the 20th century. Fool for Love runs at Round House Theatre from today, September 3 thru September 27. Opening night is Monday, September 8, 2014.

Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company is bringing back the bird and reuniting the entire cast and creative team of Aaron Posner's Stupid f**king Bird after its runaway success in the summer of 2013. Nominated for eight Helen Hayes Awards and winner for Outstanding Resident Play and Outstanding New Play or Musical, Stupid f**king Bird is directed by Woolly Artistic Director Howard Shalwitz and runs for three weeks, beginning tonight, July 28, 2014, and continuing through August 17, 2014.

In a new collaboration with Washington, D.C.'s Folger Theatre, the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra (BSO) and Music Director Marin Alsop bring together an all-star cast of stage, film and television for Director Edward Berkeley's adaptation of the William Shakespeare comedy, A Midsummer Night's Dream. Featuring John Bolger of 'General Hospital' and Linda Powell of 'Chicago Fire,' Midsummer will premiere with the BSO on May 29 at the Music Center at Strathmore, and May 30 through June 1 at the Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall. Folger Theatre Extends Run of HENRY V!

Capitol Hill's Folger Theatre today announced that the run of its critically acclaimedproduction of William Shakespeare's play Henry V will be extended an additional week, running through Sunday, March 10. The production, directed by Robert Richmond (Othello and Henry VIII at the Folger), boasts an impressive cast of just 13, led by Zach Appelman, garnering unanimous praise as the young King Henry. Katie deBuys also stars as Katherine, the Princess of France, alongside Richard Sheridan Willis, Louis Butelli, Chris Genebach, Catherine Flye, James Keegan, among others.

Overall, this show is highly recommended. Folger doesn't employ gimmicks, but does justice to the material at a time when state governments across our globe are struggling with territorial disputes, the realities of political leadership, and the forces of socio-political change not unlike the ones presented in this play.

The Folger Theatre continues its 2012/13 season with the Washington premiere of The Conference of the Birds, a theatrical adventure based on the poignant 12th-century Persian fable by Farid Uddi Attar about the search for the divine and the quest for truth. Beginning performances on October 23, the production is directed by two-time Helen Hayes Award-winner Aaron Posner (Cyrano, Macbeth at Folger) and will feature original music composed and performed by renowned musician and Helen Hayes Award-winner Tom Teasley.
