MTC School of Performing Arts Presents Master Class with Broadway's Kevin Duda

Music Theatre of Connecticut (MTC) School of Performing Arts will be presenting a series of Master Classes for young performers who are interested in learning from Broadway professionals. The first in the series focuses on Musical Theatre Audition Technique, and will feature Kevin Duda, from the original Broadway cast of the musical sensation 'The Book of Mormon' and currently appearing on Broadway in the Tony Award-winning 'Beautiful: The Carol King Musical.' The Master Class will take place on Sunday, October 19 from 10am-12:30pm and will take place at MTC, 509 Westport Avenue (behind Jones New York and Nine West Outlet) in Norwalk, CT. The stage directions for the musical don't say that it should be performed at Music Theatre of Connecticut's 45-seat theater in Westport, but maybe they should. The intimate space and wonderful circus-tent-themed backdrop by scenic designer Carl Tallent are the perfect setting for the one-piano musical. (more...)

The West Side YMCA's Marjorie S. Deane Little Theater will present its 3rd annual benefit cabaret, Little Theater, Big Dreams tonight, May 13th at 7PM. The Off-Broadway hidden gem, located inside the historic West Side Y, will play host to powerful performances from Broadway's brightest up-and-coming stars alongside their own Kids Company, a group of young (6-14 year old) triple-threats-in-training.
