Photo Flash: First Look at BEWILDERNESS at PlayMakers Repertory Company

PlayMakers Repertory Company proudly presents "Bewilderness," a PlayMakers commission and the second production in its 2018/19 PRC2 Kenan Stage series. Written and directed by Zack Fine, "Bewilderness" invites us into the upside-down, creatively chaotic world of a playwright inspired by and obsessed with the great American philosopher, Henry David Thoreau. In this madcap comedy, the famous cabin on Walden Pond plays host not only to Thoreau, but also to his brother, his mother, Ralph Waldo Emerson, some singing doctors, and a wisecracking woodchuck.

BWW Review: TIMON OF ATHENS, RSC Swan Theatre

Timon of Athens, at times a clunky collaboration and a clunkier mix of verse and prose, has much to say about how money corrupts and how spoiling adults is about as advisable as spoiling children. There's something of King Lear about it - but probably not enough.

BWW Interview: Kathryn Hunter Talks TIMON OF ATHENS

Kathryn Hunter returns to the Royal Shakespeare Company to take on the titular role in Timon of Athens. Simon Godwin's production marks the first time this play has been staged with a female lead at the RSC. Kathryn, however, is no stranger to taking on such parts.

BWW Review: Playmakers' SKELETON CREW Gives Contemplative Commentary on the Decline of American Industry and Fleeting American Dream

A 'Forbes' headline from last week read: "Ford Prepares for Mass Layoffs After Losing $1 Billion to Trump's Trade Tariffs, Report Says." In fact, Ford is planning to restructure its company to the tune of $25.5 billion, which could cost as many as 24,000 people their jobs. Seemingly ripped from the headlines, Dominique Morisseau's play SKELETON CREW, which opened at PlayMakers earlier this month, is set in a Detroit auto plant on the verge of shutting down amidst the recession in 2008. Already having lost half its crew, the plant is struggling to keep operations afloat. Morisseau examines the plight of four workers and their intertwined relationships.

PlayMakers Repertory Company proudly presents Dominique Morisseau's 'Skeleton Crew,' the searing dramatic final installment in her Detroit Trilogy. Directed by Valerie Curtis-Newton, the production runs from October 10 to 28, 2018.

BWW Review: ONE GREEN BOTTLE, Soho Theatre

Boo, Bo and Pickle have all made plans for the evening, but someone has to remain at home and look after the pregnant pooch, Princess. Each of their engagements is of paramount importance to the individual, and what starts of as meaningless folly turns into a downward spiral of absolute anarchy.

BWW Interview: Glyn Pritchard and Kathryn Hunter Talk ONE GREEN BOTTLE

Written by the prestigious Japanese playwright, director and performer Hideki Noda, One Green Bottle is an existential tragicomic play starring Hideki himself, Olivier Award-winning and acclaimed actor/director Kathryn Hunter and Glyn Pritchard, in an English translation adapted by Will Sharpe.
