Shakespeare & Company Announces Casting for 40th Anniversary Season

Shakespeare & Company is pleased to announce casting for its upcoming summer performance season, under the direction of Artistic Director Allyn Burrows and Managing Director Adam Davis. The Company's 40th Anniversary Season includes a roster of audience favorite artists, critics' top pick actors and a multitude of newcomers joining the Company. The season opens Memorial Day Weekend with Amy Herzog's 4000 Miles.

New Light Theater Project (recently represented in New York with their acclaimed production of In The Soundless Awe) will present the New York City Premiere of Jared Reinmuth's MONTE CRISTO, an adaptation of Alexandre Dumas' 1844 classic adventure novel The Count of Monte Cristo. The production will be directed by award-winner Cailin Heffernan. Previews begin January 22 at Urban Stages with opening slated for January 28.

Time Stands Still, a Tony nominee by Pulitzer Prize winner Donald Margulies, is one of the more powerful plays that you will see. Now running through January 25th at the Quogue Community Hall, the Hampton Theatre Company (HTC) produces this gripping production superbly directed by Sarah Hunnewell. To note, this is HTC's second show of their 30th season and marks the HTC debut of each cast member.

The Pearl Theatre Company kicks off its 30th anniversary season-the second season in its new home on West 42nd Street-with the first New York revival in 15 years of George Bernard Shaw's You Never Can Tell in a co-production with the Gingold Theatrical Group that is directed by David Staller. Running September 3-October 13, the show's sumptuous costumes, elegant settings and Shavian wit will raise a champagne toast to a year of celebration at The Pearl, where Shaw, following Shakespeare, has been the second most produced playwright in The Pearl's history. The production is also the centerpiece of the Shaw New York 2013 festival.
