Museum of Art and Design (MOAD) at Miami Dade College (MDC) is pleased to announce Living Together, an exciting cross-disciplinary series of programs that will galvanize Miami audiences with thoughtful and challenging performances and exhibitions that draw from art, music, theater, politics, and poetry. Spread across the city at a wide array of venues, the series features performances, exhibitions, film and video screenings, readings, talks, and workshops that will reflect the cultural, social, and political realities of how we live now. Living Together seeks to find new ways to think about civic space and citizenship, to instigate actions and conversations that may help us to reimagine our cities and our lives.

Niegel Smith, Artistic Director and Carol Ostrow, Producing Director of The Flea Theater proudly announce the slate for their spring season, which will feature three world premieres, the return of its late-night series Serials, as well as new programming Cereals, plays for younger audiences and Flea Fridays, an immersive weekend cabaret.

Performance Space 122, the birthplace of contemporary performance as it is known today, returns to its legendary home in the East Village, under the leadership of new Executive Artistic Director Jenny Schlenzka, after nearly six years presenting new works in partnership with venues across New York City. This image opens Citation, a boundary- pushing performance by RAEGAN TRUAX programmed at CounterPulse on September 22, 2017. With a daunting duration of 37 hours, Citation is an exhaustive work that traces queer and feminist performance lineages. It will be the first durational performance of this magnitude to occur on the CounterPulse stage. CounterPulse has always been a body- based experimental space interested in the archive tradition of art-making, says CounterPulse Artistic Director Julie Phelps. Raegan literally embodies this tradition without erasing the struggle involved in bringing queer and feminist histories to the surface.

Artists from around the world are using our theater and gallery–and other LA neighborhoods–to probe urgent issues: Congolese choreographer Faustin Linyekula  uses exquisite movement, music and piercing poetry to masterfully capture the essence of hope in the face of the tragedies facing his war-torn home of the Democratic Republic of the Congo; Activist-powerhouse Karen Finley's incisive writing and performing gives us a freshly hilarious and alarming perspective on drastic changes in our own country; and Chile's famed playwright/director Guillermo Calderón directs the U.S. premiere of his work questioning the vital role of artists at times of injustice.

Dixon Place (Ellie Covan, Founding & Artistic Director) presents the co-production of world-famous beatboxer and Drama Desk Award recipient Chesney Snow's THE UNWRITTEN LAW opening Sunday, July 30th. Snow comes direct from his run in Broadway's In Transit, where Ben Brantley of the NY Times called him "a one-man sound effects wiz."
