Gamm Stages Presents North American Premiere of PAUL, 3/17-4/17

The Sandra Feinstein-Gamm Theatre (The Gamm) will stage the North American premiere of Paul, British playwright Howard Brenton's powerful and provocative play exploring the extraordinary phenomenon of faith. Brenton's secular dramatization of the famous conversion of Saul of Tarsus to Saint Paul and the resurrection of Jesus Christ played to critical acclaim as well as controversy at London's National Theatre in 2005.

Love, Loss, and What I Wore welcomed its newest cast members: Katrina Bowden ('30 Rock'), Sabrina Le Beauf ('The Cosby Show'), Orfeh (Legally Blonde), Barbara Rhoades (The Goodbye Girl) and Kim Zimmer ('One Life To Live') last night, February 17. They were cheered on by well-wishers including Grizz Chapman and Kevin Brown (Grizz and Dotcom on '30 Rock'), plus producer Daryl Roth, director Karen Carpenter, and original book-writer Ilene Beckerman. Aurora Theatre Company Holds Workshop for L’HISTORIE DU SOLDAT

Aurora Theatre Company announced today its plans for a workshop production of Stravinsky's L'Histoire du Soldat (A Soldier's Tale). Through an innovative collaboration between Artistic Director Tom Ross and former San Francisco Ballet dancer Muriel Maffre, Aurora will develop a re-imagined production of L'Histoire du Soldat, based on a new translation of the libretto and new adaptation of the score. The project will feature four musicians (piano, violin, clarinet and percussion), three actors, two dancers/puppeteers, puppets (one life-size and one small), and video elements. Maffre, who performed a concert version of the work with the Orcas Island Chamber Music Festival in Seattle, will serve as choreographer, dancer, and co-director of the workshop. Artistic Director Tom Ross will co-direct with Maffre, and Berkeley Opera's Jonathan Khuner will serve as musical director.
