Abingdon Theatre Company-which has produced 83 new American plays since 1993-continues its 22nd Season with A HAPPY END, a new play by Iddo Netanyahu, with previews set to begin February 27, 2015, prior to an official press opening March 11 in Abingdon Theatre Arts Complex's June Havoc Theatre (312 West 36th Street). Off-Broadway performances run through March 29. Alex Dmitriev (God's Daughter) is set to direct.

After an acclaimed Off-Broadway engagement, THE BRIGHTNESS OF HEAVEN, a new play by best-selling author Laura Pedersen, directed by Ludovica Villar-Hauser, will soon be presented in regional productions, and will start the new year with two presentations at the Association of Performing Arts Presenters (APAP) on Saturday, January 10, 2015 at the Hilton NY Midtown (1335 Avenue of the Americas) in the Regents Parlor (scheduled for 4:40 PM and 11:25 PM). Oberon Theatre Ensemble will host a benefit to support its season. 24/7 will feature seven short plays created in 24 hours and presented January 25th at the June Havoc Theater (312 West 36th Street) at 7pm.

Slant Theatre Project announces the world premiere production of Mat Smart's NAPERVILLE, a comedy directed by Adam Knight. NAPERVILLE will be performed tonight, November 20th through Saturday, December 6th, 2014 Off-Broadway at the June Havoc Theatre (312 W 36th Street).

Abingdon Theatre Company announces that playwright Mike Bencivenga, author of the recent Off-Broadway hit Billy & Ray, will receive its 2014 Christopher Brian Wolk Award for his play SUMMER ON FIRE. A presentation of the award and staged reading of the play is set for Monday, December 15, starting at 7:00pm in the June Havoc Theatre, 312 West 36th Street, in Manhattan.

Abingdon Theatre Company presents a concert reading of MERTON OF THE MOVIES -- an uproarious new musical comedy set in the rollicking age of Keystone Cops, Harold Lloyd, Charlie Chaplin, and Buster Keaton -- with book by Donald Brenner, music and lyrics by Doug Katsaros, on Monday, December 8 at 7pm at the June Havoc Theatre (312 West 36th Street) in Manhattan. Donald Brenner, whose directorial credits include MARCH MADNESS and the upcoming MALLORCA at Abingdon, will direct.

Stage and screen star Lucie Arnaz will direct a reading of Hazel: A Musical Maid in America, a new musical composed by Ron Abel with lyrics by Chuck Steffan, and book by Lissa Levin, Edward Kleban Award-winning playwright and Emmy Award-nominated producer. The special two-day event will take place today, October 23rd and tomorrow the 24th at the June Havoc Theatre at the Abingdon Theatre Company in New York City. Klea Blackhurst will play the title role.

VH Theatrical Development Foundation proudly announces the Off-Broadway premiere of THE BRIGHTNESS OF HEAVEN, a new play by acclaimed author Laura Pedersen, directed by Ludovica Villar-Hauser. New York Deaf Theater, the longest running company of its kind in New York City, under the Artistic Direction of James W. Guido, will celebrate its 35th anniversary season with a new spin on Robert Louis Stevenson's classic tale, THE STRANGE CASE OF DR. JEKYLL AND MR. HYDE. Adapted by Noah Smith, the production is told in American Sign Language (ASL) and spoken English for deaf and hearing audiences. Previews begin on Friday, November 7th at the June Havoc Theatre (Abingdon Theatre Arts Complex - 1st floor). The official opening is on Tuesday, November 11th at 7:30PM. Hazel - the saucy maid whose wry attitude, infallible wisdom and heart of gold has captured the hearts of millions for more than 60 years - will soon get a New York City reading, directed by stage and screen star Lucie Arnaz. The full cast has been announced for a new production of Michael John LaChiusa's 2003 Off-Broadway musical Little Fish that will begin performances September 24th at The June Havoc Theatre for a run through September 27th. The cast will be lead by Christina DeCicco (Evita, Spiderman-Turn Off The Dark, Wicked) and will be featuring Alli Foss, Michael Di Liberto, Ashley Campana, Will Erat, Ashley Klanac, John D. Haggerty, Gil Perez-Abraham & Jeanne Tinker.

Love Quirks, a unique new musical by Seth Bisen-Hersh and Mark Childers about four young adults exploring various types of relationships in NYC, will be playing a limited three week run midtown at Theatre 54 (244 W 54th Street, 12 Floor) with previews beginning tonight, September 11, 2014 at 8PM. The show will have its official opening on Friday, September 19, 2014 at 8PM and will run through Sunday, September 28, 2014 at 3PM.
