Bay Street Theater & Sag Harbor Center for the Arts have announced Summer Theater Camps and Teen Workshops & Master Classes, beginning July 2017.

Musical Theatre West brings a "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious," production of Disney and Cameron Mackintosh's Mary Poppins to the Carpenter Performing Arts Center July 7-23.  Due to an overwhelming demand, MTW has added an additional and final performance on Sunday, July 23, 6:00 pm.  Practically perfect in every way, it's a high flying fun filled adventure for the young and young at heart.  Based on the books by P.L. Travers and the classic Walt Disney film, Disney and Cameron Mackintosh's production features the delectable Sherman Brothers score, including 'A Spoonful of Sugar,' 'Jolly Holiday,' 'Let's Go Fly a Kite,' 'Step in Time,' and 'Chim Chim Cher-ee," as well as new musical additions, by the Olivier winning team of George Stiles and Anthony Drewe.   Tickets for the added performance go on sale Wednesday, June 21, 10am at www. musical.org, at the MTW Ticket Office, or by calling (562) 856-1999, ext. 4.  Best seats are available for this performance.  Tickets start at $20.

The nominations for Australia's Live Performance industry awards, the HELPMANN AWARDS were announced last night at simultaneous events across the country (2017 Nominations List). Named in honour of Sir Robert Helpmann's long and diverse career, the awards principle objective, according to Live Performance Australia (LPA) is to "promote the Australian live performance industry" by recognising "distinguished artistic achievement and excellence". LPA consider the HELPMANN AWARDS as Australia's version of Broadway's Tony Awards and London's Olivier Awards.

It was announced last night that Opera Australia and John Frost's production of My Fair Lady has been nominated for nine Helpmann Awards, the production receiving the highest number of award nominations for 2017.

Due to continued and extraordinary demand, on Monday June 26 new tickets will be released for the Sydney return season of My Fair Lady.  Directed by Julie Andrews the show will commence at the Capitol Theatre on Thursday August 24 for a strictly limited season.

Bay Street Theater & Sag Harbor Center for the Arts announces the 26th Annual Summer Gala, to take place in Sag Harbor on the Long Wharf on July 15, 2017 benefiting Bay Street's educational and theatrical programs. The evening will include special performances as well as a silent auction, cocktail party, live 'Fantasy Auction,' dinner and dancing.

The Old Globe today announced the full cast for Guys and Dolls, a musical fable of Broadway.

In an interview with The New York Post, song and dance man Dick Van Dyke praises the cast and crew of Disney's upcoming MARY POPPINS RETURNS. The actor, who will make a cameo in the highly anticipated film, will be the only original 'POPPINS' cast member making an appearance in the movie.

White, CAMELOT combines the legend and lore of King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table with the enchanting melodies of two American Musical Theatre giants: Lerner and Loewe (Brigadoon & My Fair Lady). To the disappointment of MARY POPPINS fans everywhere, director Rob Marshall revealed that the original magical nanny, Julie Andrews, will not be making an appearance in Disney's highly anticipated MARY POPPINS RETURNS.

The International Cinematographers Guild (ICG, IATSE Local 600) will donate $10,000 each to the Motion Picture & Television Fund and the Actors Fund, it was announced today by Steven Poster ASC, National President of the Guild.

The historic Cape Playhouse's 91st season kicks off with Yasmine Reza's Art, the critically acclaimed comedy, in its Playhouse premiere.  Starring David Beach, Eddie Korbich and Andrew Macdonald, and directed by Matt Lenz, Art plays June 13 through 24.

The premiere event, which runs from June 9 - June 11, features local favorite Laura Hodos performing her acclaimed show, Julie and Mary and Ethel and Babs!, a program of songs associated with musical theatre legends Julie Andrews, Mary Martin, Ethel Merman, and Barbra Streisand. Selections include numbers from such shows as My Fair Lady, South Pacific, The Sound of Music, Gypsy, and Funny Girl. Hodos will be accompanied by Paul Reekie at the piano.
