Playwrights Horizons (Tim Sanford, Artistic Director; Leslie Marcus, Managing Director) continues its 2009/2010 Season with the World Premiere of THIS, a new play by Obie Award winner Melissa James Gibson (Suitcase, [sic]).

Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio Joins 'Law and Order: Criminal Intent'

Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio is set to join the cast of 'Law and Order: Criminal Intent' for its upcoming season. Mastrantonio will play the working-class captain of the show's Major Case Squad, replacing Eric Bogosian. The cast will feature several new members, as four of the current actors, Vincent D'Onofrio, Kathryn Erbe, Julianne Nicholson and Eric Bogosian, have all chosen not to return.

Playwrights Horizons Now Accepting LIVEforFIVE Lottery Entries

Playwrights Horizons (Tim Sanford, Artistic Director; Leslie Marcus, Managing Director) is now accepting entries for its popular LIVEforFIVE online lottery for $5 tickets to its next production, the World Premiere of THIS, a new play by Obie Award winner Melissa James Gibson (Suitcase, [sic]).

Feeling Better, Parker Posey to Star in FIlm 'Highland Park'

The Lucille Lortel Award-winning Parker Posey has joined the cast of the new film, Highland Park, currently shooting in Detroit. This comes a couple of months after the actress dropped out of Playwrights Horizon's THIS due to a case of Lymes Disease. Parker was replaced by Julianne Nicholson in the production, which begins previews on November 6 and runs through December 2.

Sundance Institute announced today the lineup of films selected to screen in the U.S. and World Cinema Dramatic and Documentary Competitions for the 25th Sundance Film Festival. In addition to the four Competition categories, the Festival presents films in five out-of-competition sections to be announced tomorrow. The 2009 Sundance Film Festival runs January 15-25 in Park City, Salt Lake City, Ogden, and Sundance, Utah.

Cooper Officially Confirmed for PHEDRE, Set For June 2009 Start

Actor Dominic Cooper has been cast in the role of Hippolytus in the National Theatre's upcoming revival of Ph?dre. Co-starring Helen Mirren in the title role and directed by Nicholas Hytner, Artistic Director of the National Theatre, Jean Racine's 1677 classic tragedy is based on a Greek myth about a queen who falls passionately in love with her stepson in her husband's absence.
