AARP The Magazine today announced the nominees for the upcoming 18th Annual Movies for Grownups® Awards, with A Star Is Born, BlacKkKlansman, Can You Ever Forgive Me?, Green Book and Roma contending in the Best Picture/Best Movie for Grownups category. The awards celebrate 2018's standout films with unique appeal to movie lovers with a grownup state of mind and recognize the inspiring artists who make them. Celebrated comedian and actor Martin Short will host the star-studded evening at the Beverly Wilshire, Beverly Hills on Monday, February 4. 

Acclaimed actress-writer-comedian Chelsea Peretti (Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Parks and Recreation) is set to host the 2019 Writers Guild Awards L.A. show on Sunday, February 17, 2019.

The 30th annual Palm Springs International Film Festival (PSIFF) will present Olivia Colman with the Desert Palm Achievement Award, Actress for The Favourite at its annual Film Awards Gala. The award will be presented by her co-star in the film Emma Stone. The Film Awards Gala, hosted by Mary Hart and Entertainment Tonight, and presented by American Express, will be held on Thursday, January 3 at the Palm Springs Convention Center. The Festival runs January 3-14.   

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association announced the nominations for the 2019 Golden Globe Awards this morning. For the week ending Nov. 30 (week #10 of the 2018-2019 broadcast season), THE LATE SHOW with STEPHEN COLBERT (3.83m) beat its closest competitor by +1.22 million viewers and had its largest live plus 3-day delivery in viewers since the week ending April 20. THE LATE SHOW also delivered more than 3.5 million viewers every first-run week this season.

Comcast and Amazon today announced the Prime Video service will launch over the next week on Comcast's Xfinity X1, giving millions of people access to a one-of-a-kind entertainment experience that now features seamless access to award-winning Prime Video originals, thousands of premium shows, movies, and live events right alongside all of the live, on demand and web programming included with an Xfinity TV subscription.

CBS Studios International and one of China's largest streaming platforms, iQIYI, today announced an exclusive licensing agreement for THE LATE LATE SHOW with JAMES CORDEN. This is the first time the series will be available in China, with current and past episodes available on demand.

Lincoln Center Theater/LCT3 has announced a special event - THROW ME ON THE BURNPILE AND LIGHT ME UP, an 80-minute solo show written and performed by Lucy Alibar and directed by Neel Keller.  BURNPILE will have 3 performances only - Thursday, December 6; Friday, December 7; and Saturday, December 8 - all at 7pm at the Claire Tow Theater (150 West 65 Street).

Totem Pole Playhouse, America's beloved summer theatre located in Caledonia State Park between Gettysburg and Chambersburg, PA, has announced the opening of the Totem Pole Playhouse Academy. The new performing arts training center will be housed in the Playhouse's recently renovated rehearsal space named after Totem Pole's former Artistic Producer and Directors, Carl Schurr and Wil Love.
