Love Is In The Air This February At Manchester's Valentine's Movie Experience

Love will be all around as well as on the big screen for couples in Manchester this February as The Valentine's Movie Experience rolls out a romantic red carpet of events.

Not only will film fans be able to enjoy snuggling up together to watch some of Hollywood's biggest romantic blockbusters, but they will also be able to declare their feelings for their partners with a host of loved-up extras at the five-day extravaganza at Mayfield Depot near Manchester Piccadilly.

They include the chance to run messages and videos on the big screen for audience members who want to make a public declaration of love for their other half.

Filmgoers will be welcomed to the Valentine's venue by a live band playing a programme of special love songs before venturing through a snow-kissed romantic forest to reach the pop-up cinema.

Exclusive candyfloss roses will put the sweet in to sweetheart.

And anyone coming to one of three screenings of Dirty Dancing will be able to enjoy performances from live dancers who will recreate some of the films flirty dancefloor moves in the cinema, mirroring what is happening on screen.

The film festival runs from Wednesday 13 February to Sunday 17 February and is being organised by the team responsible for the hugely successful Magical Christmas Movie Experience, which took place in the same venue in December.

Film fans will be treated to a programme featuring some of the best love stories ever portrayed on the silver screen.

The movies being screened are Titanic starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet; Pretty Woman featuring Richard Gere and Julia Roberts; Beauty & The Beast with Emma Watson; and Notting Hill with Hugh Grant and Julia Roberts - there is even a Beauty & The Beast Singalong screening.

A double bill on Valentine's Day itself (Thursday 14 February) will feature The Bodyguard with Kevin Costner and Whitney Houston at 6.30pm, followed by Dirty Dancing starring Patrick Swayze at 9.30pm.

Visitors can enjoy watching their favourite film while cuddling up under cosy blankets with a hot drink or a cocktail. And a tasty array of street food for sale will include woodfired pizzas and Jamaican barbecue, along with gourmet burgers and hot dogs.

Steven Matthews, organiser of The Valentine's Movie Experience, said: "Love is all around as we countdown to our very special movie experience this month.

"Music is the food of love, but along with loved-up classics being played live we've also got sweets for your sweet, while there's also the chance to make a romantic gesture by declaring your love on the big screen. All in all, it's going to be quite a February."

Tickets for all the films start from £14.99.
