Casting has been announced for the upcoming edition of Dennis Hensley's The MisMatch Game, the show the Los Angeles Times called, "witty, ribald ... an adventure in surrealist era bending." The side-splitting parody of the '70s game show returns to the Los Angeles LGBT Center's Renberg Theatre for two nights only, Saturday, July 28, at 8pm and Sunday, July 29, at 7pm.
It looks like we'll be seeing stars next year as more Broadway names are added to the Hollywood Walk of Fame. CBS LA has reported that the full list of entertainment industry professionals have been selected to receive their stars and were announced on Monday.
Dan Goggin's Nunsense, now playing at Bellport's Gateway Playhouse, is certainly a treat. It was never officially on Broadway per se', but rather it has lead a very successful, thirty-three year life with consistent incarnations off-Broadway and at regional and local theatres. Running through June 23rd as part of Gateway's dazzling (and busy!) 69th season, this production is all about fun.

Nathan Oliveira was an American artist and prominent member of the second generation of the Bay Area Figurative artists. Though he worked with a variety of media, subjects, and disciplines over the course of his long career, Oliveira is best remembered for the brilliantly colored figurative and landscape paintings. This exhibit will include sculptures and other artwork by this renowned California artist who influenced generations of artists, including his friend Lowell Herrero.

Established to perform intimate and unique opera performances, Opera180 is launching its 2018 season with the highly interactive production of Bon Operatit. Performing at the Squeezebox Theatre on April 27-29, this exciting event will consist of three parts including composer Lee Hoiby's Bon Appetit based on Julia Child, a cooking demonstration by a local KC chef, and Jennifer Jolley's Krispy Kremes and Butter Queens inspired by the colorful Paula Deen.

The Smithsonian's National Museum of American History recently received a donation from the family of actress Jean Stapleton (1923-2013) that showcases her career. The objects range from the apron she wore while playing Edith Bunker in All in the Family, a crew jacket from the set of All in the Family, a selection of the awards that she won throughout her career, costumes and props from her career in theater and TV, memorabilia related to her work as a women's rights activist and papers reflecting her dedication Eleanor Roosevelt's legacy.
