The York Theatre Company continues the 2013-2014 season with the world premiere of the new musical revue, Inventing Mary Martin, conceived, written and directed by Stephen Cole, with music supervision and arrangements byDavid Krane. Inventing Mary Martin is co-directed and choreographed by Bob Richard and has music direction byLawrence Goldberg. Performances began April 15, 2014 for a limited engagement that has been extended through Sunday, May 25, 2014 at The York Theatre Company's home at Saint Peter's. BroadwayWorld is thrilled to announce that recognizable TV and theatre actress and world renowned Ethel Merman tribute artist Rita McKenzie has joined the line-up of EVERYTHING'S COMING UP BROADWAYWORLD.COM: A JULE STYNE TRIBUTE.

Following the Saturday matinee on April 19, there was Special Talk-Back at the new Off-Broadway musical revue, "Inventing Mary Martin" with family members Heller Halliday, daughter of Mary Martin (who appeared with her in Peter Pan), and Preston Hagman, Ms. Martin's grandson and son of Larry Hagman, at the York Theatre Company's home at Saint Peter's. Artistic Director Vincent J. Cardinal has announced that Leslie Uggams, the Tony and Emmy Award winning actress will be starring as Rose in Connecticut Repertory Theatre's (CRT) production of GYPSY: A Musical Fable onstage July 10-20. GYPSY, is the third show in the 2014 Summer Nutmeg Series, which includes A CHORUS LINE (June 5-14) and THE SUNSHINE BOYS (June 19-29) starring Jerry Adler and Richard Kline.

According to The Courant, Tony and Emmy Award-winning actress Lesli Uggams will be starring as Mama Rose in the Connecticut Repertory Theatre's upcoming production of Gypsy. The production will run from July 10-20 at the Harriet S. Jorgensen Theatre.

Guest conductor Jack Everly joins the Utah Symphony on May 2-3 for a trip down memory lane at Abravanel Hall. This special concert, celebrating the Baby Boom generation, highlights songs and television shows from the 1960s. The program features music by the Beach Boys, Frankie Valli, and the Beatles, and guest vocalists Roy Chicas, Jim Hogan, Marissa McGowan, N'Kenge, Kristine Reese and Max Quinlan.

Due to popular demand, The York Theatre Company has announced a one-week extension of the world premiere production of the new musical revue, Inventing Mary Martin, that will now play through Sunday afternoon, May 25, 2014 at 2:30 p.m. at The York Theatre Company's home at Saint Peter's (entrance on East 54th Street, just east of Lexington Avenue) where performances began earlier this week on April 15. Opening Night is Sunday evening, April 27, 2014 at 7:00 p.m.

She has had starring roles on Broadway, television and film, and has won awards including an Emmy, a Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Award and an Outer Critics Circle Award. She brings her new show, Spring is Here, to The Carlyle for a limited five-night engagement, through April 19.

Rubicon Theatre continues the company's 16th Not Your Typical Season with a special run of Love, Loss, and What I Wore -- a witty and wise celebration of womanhood adapted by Nora and Delia Ephron, creators of such hits as 'When Harry Met Sally,' 'Sleepless in Seattle,' 'You've Got Mail,' 'The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants' and 'Silkwood.'
