In honor of the legendary actress, comedian, singer and writer Carol Burnett, Center Theatre Group is hosting a special tribute to the star's late daughter Carrie Hamilton with a one-night-only reading of Burnett and Hamilton's Broadway play "Hollywood Arms," at the Mark Taper Forum on Sunday, June 22, 2014 at 7 p.m. Inspired by Burnett's early life in Hollywood, "Hollywood Arms" will be directed by Jason Alexander and will feature a star- studded cast (to be announced).

Today in 1959, Gypsy opened at the Broadway Theatre, where it ran for 702 performances. Gypsy is a musical with music by Jule Styne, lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, and a book by Arthur Laurents. It follows the dreams and efforts of Rose to raise two daughters to perform onstage and casts an affectionate eye on the hardships of show business life. The musical contains many songs that became popular standards, including 'Small World,' 'Everything's Coming up Roses', 'Some People', 'Let Me Entertain You', and 'Rose's Turn'.

Theo Ubique Cabaret Theatre Artistic Director/co-Founder Fred Anzevino has announced the company's 2014-15 season. The season will include two musicals - both to be directed by Anzevino - and two cabarets saluting two great - and very different - musical theater songwriters. The company's much-acclaimed music directors - Jeremy Ramey and Aaron Benham - will be back, providing musical direction for two shows each.

OK let me start off by saying, Babs she ain't and thank God for that. OK, now before you all form the lynch mob, I love Babs. But if anyone is going to even attempt to put on "Funny Girl" the worst thing they could do it try to pass off an imitation of an icon. And Sarah Rose Davis in Village's current production manages to pull off carrying the show with aplomb while still putting her own stamp on the role.

It was an unforgettable night, as those in the audience and watching the livestream can attest, and we have already provided multiple exclusive and extensive looks behind the scenes (here and here) showcasing the sights and sounds of the night and the preparation for it, kicking off earlier this week with some fabulous photo sets provided by our esteemed team of photographers, and today we bring you an all access pass to view the onstage action, as well. BroadwayWorld's own Pat Cerasaro created and directed the evening, with expert musical direction provided by the superb Phil Hall. Without a doubt, the astonishing array of performers appearing truly could not have been more delightful or magnificent - both onstage and off - and the marvelous Styne melodies were grandly served by that stalwart collection of Broadway's best, performing hits such as 'Diamonds Are A Girl's Best Friend', 'Don't Rain On My Parade', 'People', 'Never Never Land' and more.
