A 19th Century Musical Gangster Comes to the Stage in MACAIRE

Thomas G. Waites TGW ACTING STUDIO is pleased to announce the world premiere production of Thomas Waites' musical MACAIRE. Directed by Waites and musically directed by Steffani Bennett, the show will play a limited engagement at Teatro Latea (107 Suffolk St., NYC). Performances begin Today, August 1 and continue through Sunday, August 13th. Opening Night is Friday, August 4 (8 p.m.). $25 tickets are available now at brownpapertickets.com.

New Musical COME LIGHT MY CIGARETTE Coming to Theater at St. Clement's This August

MC Theatrical Productions has announced that it will present COME LIGHT MY CIGARETTE, a suspenseful new musical written and directed by Arnold L. Cohen, with music direction by Mason Griffin, August 8th - September 3rd at the Theatre at St. Clement's (423 West 46th Street).  The official opening will be on August 17th at 7PM.

John Douglas Thompson-Led HAMLET, SMALL MOUTH SOUNDS and More Round Out A.C.T.'s 2017-18 Season

American Conservatory Theater (A.C.T.) Artistic Director Carey Perloff announced today the final four productions that will comprise the lineup of the company's 2017-18 subscription season. The 2017-18 season marks the 25th anniversary of Perloff's arrival at A.C.T.; the longtime artistic director recently announced she would depart following the 2017-18 season.

Warner Bros. Theatre Ventures has just announced that Academy Award winner Bill Condon (Disney's Beauty & the Beast, Gods and Monsters, Chicago and Dreamgirls) will direct the first stage adaptation of A STAR IS BORN, based on the 1954 Warner Bros. motion picture. The new musical is in early development and Warner Bros. Theatre Ventures will announce a production timeline in the near future.

stufffOn this day in 2015, Academy Award winner Helen Mirren returned to Broadway with a stunning portrayal of Queen Elizabeth II in Peter Morgan's The Audience, directed by two-time Tony Award winner Stephen Daldry. The production nabbed two Tony Awards, one for Mirren in the Leading Actress in a Play category and the other for Featured Actor in a Play, taken home by Richard McCabe for his portrayal of Harold Wilson.

Cherry Lane Theatre Announces Casting For The Second Play Of The 2017 Mentor Project

Cherry Lane Theatre has announced casting for the second production of the Obie award-winning MENTOR PROJECT 2017 now in its 19th season. Nathan Yungerberg's ESAI'S TABLE, will be presented at Cherry Lane (38 Commerce St.) from March 22 - April 1, 2017, it has been announced by Seri Lawrence and Janio Marrero, MENTOR PROJECT's Producing Artistic Directors. Angelina Fiordellisi is Cherry Lane's Founding Artistic Director.
