BIRNEY, RAPP & MATTHEWS Teach Ahead of the Class

The Freeman Studio, the Tribeca-based acting studio led by Scott Freeman, is offering three exciting master classes through October with three distinguished theatre luminaries.  These classes are open to non-Freeman Studio students. Reed Birney shares his insights on Monday October 10, 10am to 5pm; Adam Rapp leads the way on Sunday October 23, 1pm to 5pm, and Dakin Matthews delivers a Shakespeare master class for actors on Sunday October 30, 11am to 2pm.

The Old Globe today announced that, due to popular demand, another additional week has been added to the world premiere run of Steve Martin's new play Meteor Shower, which will now play July 30 - September 18, 2016, with opening night on August 7.

Cherry Lane Theatre to Host Benefit Featuring Israel Horovitz's OUT OF THE MOUTHS OF BABES Starring Estelle Parsons and Judith Ivey

On Thursday, June 16 at 7PM, Cherry Lane Theatre will host Soiree Fantastique!, a special benefit evening that will include a performance of the world premiere of Israel Horovitz's Out of the Mouths of Babes, starring Oscar winner and five-time Tony nominee Estelle Parsons and two-time Tony winner Judith Ivey, along with Angelina Fiordellisi (Zorba on Broadway opposite Anthony Quinn) and Francesca Choy-Kee (Disgraced). The performance at the Cherry Lane Theatre (38 Commerce Street) will be followed by a post-show discussion with the cast moderated by best-selling novelist Adriana Trigiani; a fete with French cuisine, wines, and music and an exclusive photo opportunity with the cast. Tickets to IF/THEN National Tour at Fox Theatre on Sale 5/22

Fifth Third Bank Broadway in Atlanta announced today that tickets for the National Tour of IF/THEN, which was named the "Best Musical of the Year" by New York Magazine, will go on sale Sunday, May 22. IF/THEN will perform a limited one week engagement from August 9-14 at Atlanta's Fox Theatre to close the 2015/2016 Fifth Third Bank Broadway in Atlanta Series.

Annual 'Playwrights for a Cause', Benefitting New Yorkers Against Gun Violence, to Be Held in July

The annual Playwrights for a Cause benefit will be Sunday, July 24th at 7:30 pm at the Atlantic Theatre (Linda Gross Theater), 336 West 20th Street, NYC 10011. The special performance will include six original plays. This year the playwrights for the benefit will include: Israel Horovitz, Dominique Morisseau, Antoinette Nwandu, John Patrick Shanley, Regina Taylor as well as an award-winning writer from the Planet Connections community that will be announced later.
