2Cents Theatre Group's popular 3-day festival of female playwrights is back for year FIVE! We are once again gathering around 100 artists for this one-of-a-kind event, from playwrights to directors to actors and street artists, to celebrate the FEMALE PLAYWRIGHT and ART! The live-action Lion King is set to feature four of the film's original songs by John and Tim Rice. Elton John told The Sun, 'They need to have a new end credits song. There's going to be four of our songs in the film, from the original: 'Can You Feel The Love Tonight?', 'Hakuna Matata', 'I Just Can't Wait To Be King' and 'Circle of Life'. And then there will be an end, closing song, and we've been speaking to Beyonce's people and hopefully Tim and I and her can cook up something.' But will Scar's 'Be Prepared' make the cut for live-action THE LION KING?

Most people know Del Shores as the creator/writer/director of the play and film SORDID LIVES, which morphed into the TV series Sordid Lives: The Series. Del also has utilized his producing and writing talents on Showtime's Queer As Folk and ABC's Dharma & Greg, among others. Del has been touring his various stand-up acts since 2009. Del's latest theatrical opus SIX CHARACTERS IN SEARCH OF A PLAY finds the man himself onstage in his west coast premiere, beginning at the Celebration at the Lex on February 25, 2018.

Alfre Woodard will have a recurring guest-star role on EMPIRE, playing “Renee,” Cookie's mother, who comes back into her life with a turbulent reunion. EMPIRE Returns with All-New Episodes beginning Wednesday, March 28 @ 8/7c on FOX

The Caldecott-winning book by beloved author Leo Lionni has been charming readers for 50 years. Adapted by Suzanne Maynard Miller, with music and lyrics by Sarah Durkee and Paul Jacobs and directed by Marilee Mahler, this award-winning adaptation, featuring a roots-flavored country and folk-infused score, will delight the heart and tickle the imagination.
