Emilio and Gloria Estefan Scholarship Awarded to Sergio De Miguel Jorquera

The Latin GRAMMY Cultural Foundation® awarded the Emilio and Gloria Estefan Scholarship to 17-year-old piano student Sergio De Miguel Jorquera at a scholarship presentation at The Latin Recording Academy® headquarters in Miami. The scholarship has a maximum value of $200,000 USD and provides De Miguel Jorquera the opportunity to earn a four-year bachelor's degree at Berklee College of Music in Boston beginning September 2019.

Juanes Named 2019 Latin Recording Academy Person of the Year

-The Latin Recording Academy® today announced 23-time Latin GRAMMY® and two-time GRAMMY-winning singer, composer, musician, and philanthropist Juanes will be the 2019 Latin Recording Academy Person of the Year as part of its milestone 20th anniversary.

More than 1,000 graduates from 67 countries and 47 U.S. states received degrees today at Berklee College of Music's 2019 commencement. At the ceremony, Berklee President Roger H. Brown presented honorary doctor of music degrees to music icons Missy Elliott, Justin Timberlake, and Alex Lacamoire. Lacamoire, a 1995 graduate of the college, delivered the commencement address to the graduating class and an estimated audience of nearly 7,000 guests at Agganis Arena.

2019 BILLBOARD LATIN MUSIC AWARDS To Feature Exclusive Worldwide Premieres

 The 2019 Billboard Latin Music Awards stage will heat up with worldwide premieres and television debuts from the biggest Spanish-language stars including Marc Anthony, Nicky Jam, Romeo Santos, Luis Fonsi and Ozuna, among others. Telemundo also revealed today the final line-up of artists set to perform at the magnum awards show, including international superstar Luis Fonsi, popular Puerto Rican reggaeton singer Yandel, Colombian reggaeton star J Balvin, influential reggaeton heavy hitter Nicky Jam, Spanish modern flamenco sensation Rosalía, Jamaican reggae singer and record producer Sean Paul, Regional Mexican, norteño singer Javier Rosas, Spanish Latin pop/trap singer and record producer El Guincho, Regional Mexican artist Adriel Favela, Latin Pop Puerto Rican singer and songwriter Pedro Capo, Puerto Rican singer and songwriter Kany García, Colombian singer and songwriter Fonseca, and prolific Dominican bachata singer Raulín Rodríguez. They join previously announced performances by Anitta, Anuel, Bad Bunny, Banda MS, Becky G, Carlos Vives, CNCO, Karol G, Marc Anthony, Ozuna, Reik, Romeo Santos, Sebastian Yatra and Wisin.

Juan Luis Guerra to Receive Lifetime Achievement Award At Billboard Latin Music Awards 

International famed artist Juan Luis Guerra will be honored with a Billboard Lifetime Achievement Awardin recognition of his outstanding 35-year career at the 2019 Billboard Latin Music Awards. The exciting event will broadcast live on Telemundo Thursday, April 25 at 8pm/7c from Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas. The prestigious show will also air simultaneously on Spanish-language entertainment cable network, Universo, and throughout the Americas via Telemundo Internacional. Billboard is proud to announce today that singer, songwriter and producer Juan Luis Guerra will take the stage as a special guest in a Q&A during this year's Billboard Latin Music Week. The internationally recognized star hailing from the Dominican Republic will headline the 'The Legend Q&A' session on Wednesday, April 24. Alex Lacamoire to Receive Honorary Doctorate at Berklee College of Music Commencement
