Westport Country Playhouse will present a Script in Hand playreading of A TAILOR NEAR ME, featuring L.A. Law alumni Michael Tucker, Jimmy Smits, and Jill Eikenberry. Tucker also wrote the comedy about an unlikely friendship between a customer and a tailor.

Westport Country Playhouse will present a musical concert, “Ari Axelrod - A Place for Us: A Celebration of Jewish Broadway,” on Monday, May 15, at 7 p.m. The internationally acclaimed, award-winning show honors the songs, stories, and contributions to American musical theater by Jewish composers, such as Irving Berlin, Leonard Bernstein, Stephen Sondheim, and Carole King. Tickets are $25.

Westport Country Playhouse has announced the addition to its 2023 season of more Script in Hand playreadings, New Works playreadings, Family Festivities presentations, and Mic in Hand musical events, a new spin-off of the Script in Hand series.

Westport Country Playhouse will present “Straight White Men: Dig Deeper,” a series of special events, free-of-charge and open to the community, surrounding the comedy, “Straight White Men,” playing May 24 – June 5. The events will enhance the community's insight on the production and its themes.

Fairfield Center Stage (FCS), an environmental community theater group, along with partner Fairfield Museum & History Center, will present an outdoor musical production of THE SOUND OF MUSIC in downtown Fairfield this June. The show runs for five performances over one weekend only: June 24-27, 2021 at Fairfield Museum Commons at 370 Beach Rd behind Old Town Hall.

Westport Country Playhouse announces changes in its upcoming 2020 Season, with the official opening now scheduled for July instead of the previously announced April kick-off, due to the Coronavirus Pandemic.

Westport Country Playhouse announces that Kandis Chappell has joined the cast of "Lettice and Lovage" in the role of Miss Lettice Douffet, beginning Thursday, June 1.  Due to a health issue, the original actress playing Lettice had to leave the role during final rehearsals.  She is doing well and wished a speedy recovery.

Alan Pally, an authority on Tony and Academy Award-winning British playwright Peter Shaffer ("Amadeus," "Equus"), will be guest speaker at the Playhouse's Sunday Symposium following the Sunday, June 4, 3 p.m. matinee performance of Shaffer's comedy "Lettice and Lovage." 

The Tony Award-nominated comedy, "Lettice and Lovage," will open Westport Country Playhouse's 87th Season, written by Peter Shaffer, author of "Amadeus," and directed by Mark Lamos, Playhouse artistic director.  The play runs from May 30 through June 17.

Westport Country Playhouse's production of 'Buyer & Cellar,' starring Michael Urie, will air on 'Theater Close-Up' on New York's public television station THIRTEEN, on Monday, December 5, at 10 p.m., with an encore presentation on Sunday, December 11, at 1 a.m.

Actor Michael Urie, reprising his award-winning role in the original Off-Broadway production of 'Buyer & Cellar' at Westport Country Playhouse, will be guest speaker at the Playhouse's Sunday Symposium following the Sunday, June 19, 3 p.m. matinee performance.
