Producers Paul Blake and Sony/ATV Music Publishing announced today that Abby Mueller has nabbed the title role in the First National Tour of Beautiful-The Carole King Musical, the smash hit musical about the early life and career of the legendary and groundbreaking singer/songwriter. Mueller's sister, Jessie Mueller, won the Tony Award in 2014 Best Actress in a Musical her portrayal of King in the show's Broadway production.

Music Theatre Wichita opens its 44th summer season June 10-14 with the first of its five large-scale productions, Elton John and Tim Rice's Aida at Century II Concert Hall in downtown Wichita, KS. This marks the 28th season for producing artistic director Wayne Bryan.

Music Theatre Wichita's 44th Season includes Elton John and Tim Rice's 'Aida,' the professional premiere of Disney's 'My Son Pinocchio,' the area debuts of 'Billy Elliot - The Musical' and 'Big Fish,' and the return of 'Hello, Dolly!' after a 21-year absence.

The public is invited to an Open House and Preview Event showcasing the Fabulous Fox Theatre's 2015-2016 U.S. Bank Broadway Series on Sunday, May 31 from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Fox Theatre, 527 N. Grand Blvd. Visitors will be treated to live previews of MATILDA THE MUSICAL and BEAUTIFUL-THE CAROLE KING MUSICAL along with video previews from the other season shows.  

Jenni Barber, Quentin Earl Darrington, Bradley Dean, Dan Fogler, Ana Gasteyer, Josh Lamon, Aaron Lazar, Alyse Alan Louis and Rema Webb will join the previously announced Jonathan Groff in the Encores! Off-Center production of William Finn and James Lapine's A New Brain, running June 24 - 27, 2015. The production will be directed by James Lapine, with choreography by Josh Prince.

BEAUTIFUL, THE CAROLE KING MUSICAL opened the 2015 Olivier Awards with a performance of the title song 'Beautiful' performed by 2015 Best Actress in a Musical Olivier Award Winner Katie Brayben followed by a full company performance of 'I Feel the Earth Move'.
