Hey BroadwayWorld.com! Hello from Pioneer Theatre Company in Salt Lake City, where we're deep in rehearsals for Les Miserables. This ever-popular musical is making a comeback - literally - and, no, I don't mean an uptick in ticket sales since the movie was released last December. PTC was the first regional theatre to produce Les Mis, in 2007, where it played for 10 sold-out weeks. So it's no surprise that we're here again, just six years later, bringing this amazing story to life.

Pioneer Theatre Company presents the epic musical LES MISERABLES. Due to popular demand, the production's run has been extended by two weeks. Performances take place May 3 through June 1, 2013. BroadwayWorld has a first look at the production shots below.

Red Tape Theatre has announced that Artistic Director and founding ensemble member James D Palmer (The Love of the Nightingale, Elephant's Graveyard), has been accepted into the MFA Directing Program at Brown/Trinity. His final Chicago production will be Lear, which marks James' return to the work of Young Jean Lee following the successful production of her two plays Church and Pullman, Wa in 2011.

There are those cherished moments in the theater when a performer grips the audience in such a manner that the evening not only becomes the talk of the town, but remains locked forever in the minds of the audiences who were fortunate enough to witness it. Such was the case recently when The Gateway Playhouse in Bellport, NY presented their version of Disney's Beauty and the Beast. Without exaggeration, the production became the buzz of the community. Not only were people enormously impressed with the stunning sets and costumes, but they were also bowled over by the brilliant performance of Josh Davis as the Beast.

In its premiere professional production on Long Island, it is directed by Dom Ruggiero and choreographey by Michelle Webber with Jeff Hoffman as musical director.
