Ensemble ACJW kicks off a new three-concert series this season at Greenwich Village venue Subculture on Wednesday, January 22 at 7:30 p.m. with an eclectic program, titled Encounters, that features interesting contemporary works and world premieres of new music, composed and/or arranged by the Ensemble ACJW fellows themselves.

ACJW's inventive program also includes Steve Reich's City Life, the composer's homage to his hometown of New York City, and Bartok's Music for Strings, Percussion, and Celesta.

Polisi, President of The Juilliard School, today announced the creation of the Kovner Fellowship Program at Juilliard that will be endowed with a gift of $60 million - the largest single one-time gift to the School - from Bruce and Suzie Kovner, long-time supporters of the School. The School of American Ballet's Workshop Performance Benefit 2013 at SAB on Tuesday, June 4, 2013 honored Peter Martins' and Kay Mazzo's 30th Anniversary with the School and raised more than $820,000 for scholarships and school programs. How can one day sum up four life-changing years? This past Friday, May 24th I crossed the stage of Alice Tully Hall to receive my Bachelor of Fine Arts diploma from President Joseph W. Polisi of The Juilliard School. Like dancing, this moment held such significant meaning yet in it's ephemeral state it is hard to believe it happened, let alone share the experience- but I'll try my best.
The Juilliard School today announced a $10 million gift that completes the endowment of the School's new four-year masters-level graduate program in Drama. The gift supports increased instructional costs and new faculty, and provides full scholarships plus stipends for actors in their final and fourth year of the master of fine arts program in Drama. Juilliard's Board Chairman and his wife, Bruce and Suzie Kovner initiated a matching challenge grant of up to $5 million to endow Juilliard Drama's MFA program, with donors John A. and Carole Moran and The Harold and Mimi Steinberg Charitable Trust completing that challenge.

The Juilliard School President Joseph W. Polisi, and Signature Theatre Founding Artistic Director James Houghton announced today an annual residency for the Juilliard Drama Division's "Professional Studio" for the next five years. Beginning in the fall of 2012, fourth and final-year students in both Juilliard's Bachelor degree, and new Master of Fine Arts degree programs in Drama will be hosted by Signature Theatre at the Company's new Frank Gehry-designed home, Signature Center. Professional workshops, rehearsals, and performances by students from the prestigious, world-renown Juilliard program will take place at "The Studio," a new, 99-seat, state-of-the-art rehearsal and performance space in Signature's new home. In addition, the students will have the opportunity to observe and participate in activities in the Center and intersect with artists in residence at Signature Theatre.
