7th Season From WNC Children's Theatre Has Regional World Premiere And A Re-imagined Classic

Asheville Creative Arts (ACA), Asheville's professional children's theatre, continues in its 7th season to build on the successful mounting of its first world premiere, BUGS!, to present a second world premiere, LINTHEAD, as well as a new take on the family classic, CHARLOTTE'S WEB. Its mobile unit, which launched last season with the touring puppet musical, SLUG & SNAIL, will grow to include the touring version of BUGS!, and the company will offer expanded educational opportunities with both spring after-school classes and 2 sessions of summer camp. Details will be unveiled at ACA's annual Fall Fete held Nov 8 at Ambrose West (312 Haywood Road) from 7-9pm. A CHRISTMAS STORY Announced at Rising Star Resort

Ghostlight Theatricals in association with Rising Star Resort & Casino in Rising Sun, Indiana will present "A Christmas Story: The Musical," a professional dinner theatre production at the Grand Theatre at Rising Star Resort & Casino. Performances will be Thursday through Sunday beginning November 15 and continuing through December 28. Show times are as follows: Thursday through Saturday buffet dinner starts at 5:45 with the performance at 7:00; Saturday and Sunday matinee buffet starts at 11:45 with the performances at 1:00. The Cortland Repertory Theatre Performing Interns and Youth Programs proudly present performances of "Dorothy Meets Alice, Or The Wizard Of Wonderland", a fun and funny "mash-up" tale of two classic children's stories. Written by Joseph Robinette, this live performance play will have performances on Saturday July 14 and Thursday July 19 at 10:00 am. The performance on Friday July 20 is sold out.  General Admission tickets are $7.00 per person and may be purchased by calling 800-427-6160 or at the CRT Box Office at 24 Port Watson Street in Cortland. Tickets are also available for sale 24 hours a day through the CRT website using ETIX at www.cortlandrep.org. Join us in the park! Curtain Players is pleased to present Charlotte's Web by E.B. White. The beloved children's book has been transformed into a play by Joseph Robinette. It tells the story of a young pig on the Arable family farm who is saved from slaughter. That pig, named Wilbur, tries to make friends with everyone at his new home on the Zuckerman Farm and finds comfort with his closest new friend, Charlotte, a spider. Charlotte repeatedly saves Wilbur by writing words about him in her web. Performances run Thur-Sat, June 14th thru 23 th at 7:30 pm.  Bring lawn chairs andor blankets as it's all free lawn seating (donations accepted). Parking will be available in the park along Alum Park Drive (accessible from W. Creative Cauldron presents a beguiling new version of E.B. White's beloved classic story Charlotte's Web with music and lyrics by Broadway composer Charles Strouse (Annie, Bye Bye Birdie) and a book adapted by national award-winning playwright, Joseph Robinette. E.B. White's classic tells the story of Wilbur, a little pig who becomes famous with the help of his clever friend Charlotte the spider and their animal friends. The beautiful lessons of friendship and loyalty embedded in the story have made this tale one of the most famous classics of children's literature.
