The Metropolitan Opera's 2017-18 season will feature 220 performances of 26 works, including two Met premieres, one co-commissioned by the company and one an older masterpiece having its first Met performances; a variety of repertory favorites, three in new productions; and performances of Verdi's towering concert work for soloists, orchestra, and chorus, the Requiem. Of note, Broadway star Kelli O'Hara is set to return to the Met in Così fan tutte this season.

Indulge in the beautiful music of Brahms as the Hawai'i Symphony Orchestra (HSO) proudly features two of its own musicians - Concertmaster Ignace (Iggy) Jang and Principal Cellist Mark Votapek - in the Brahms Violin and Cello Concerto in A minor (also known as the Brahms Double Concerto) under the baton of Maestra Xian Zhang at 7:30 pm on Saturday, February 4 and at 4 pm on Sunday, February 5.

Victoria Juharyan-who earned audience raves for post-concert Russian poetry readings in 2015-returns to read poems by Tchaikovsky's favorite poet, Alexander Pushkin, and more, in the original Russian. Attendees will also hear the poems in English translation at these NJSO Accent events, which are free to concert ticketholders.

Bank of America will sponsor seven New Jersey Symphony Orchestra concerts in the 2016-17 season, including Xian Zhang's October 29 debut as NJSO Music Director in New Brunswick, as well as the Orchestra's final two performances of the season, June 10-11. The seven performances, all under Zhang's baton, span concerts at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center in Newark, State Theatre New Jersey in New Brunswick and Count Basie Theatre in Red Bank.
