The Zimmerli Art Museum at Rutgers invites the public to attend exclusive programming at Art After Hours: First Tuesdays on March 3, from 5 to 9 p.m. The evening features curator-led tours of a?oeIt makes me think of that awful daya??a??

For more than 30 years, artist Vladimir Radunsky created children's books, combining creative narration, innovative design, and pervasive wit. The Zimmerli Art Museum at Rutgers is pleased to spotlight his career in A Celebration of the Children's Books of Vladimir Radunsky, on view through March 8, 2020. With support from the Avenir Foundation Endowment Fund, the exhibition features recently acquired artwork for two of the books, Because . . . and Discovery; while illustrations from The Mighty Asparagus and Mother Goose of Pudding Lane are on loan from the collection of Eugenia Radunsky, the artist's wife.

The legendary Russian Samovar Restaurant and Piano Bar presents the one and only "Gypsy's Dream" by renowned actor, model, singer, and dancer duo Tatiana & Alexander Fursenko. The pair, who are winners of the Russian President's National Award for Contribution to the Theatre and Film Industry, premiers with their first show  on Friday, June 28 at 9:00pm. A show will be held every Friday until Labor Day weekend. The one-hour show will include classic Gypsy ballads and dancers, as well as a guitarist, violinist, and an accordionpiano player from the Gypsy Fun Trio (Andrey Solodenko, Valery Zhmud and Sergey Pobedinsky). Said Russian Samovar manager Vlada Von Shats, "The incredible sound of the gypsies will touch your soul."

The Mother is a powerful, narrative dance production choreographed and directed by master storyteller Arthur Pita which has its London premiere at the Southbank Centre Queen Elizabeth Hall in June.  Inspired by Hans Christian Andersen's dark tale, The Story of a Mother, this sumptuously designed production stars international dance superstar Natalia Osipova and award-winning contemporary dancer Jonathan Goddard.

Operadagen Rotterdam, the festival for contemporary opera and music theatre, will be held from 18 through 27 May 2018. This production is performed in Russian with English subtitles, provided by Jamey Gambrell. BRODSKY/BARYSHNIKOV runs at the Cherry Orchard Festival from January 17th - 21st.
