QT to Premiere New Musical THE QUEEN BEES

Queens Theatre (QT) is pleased to announce its World Premiere production of Rob Urbinati'sTHE QUEEN BEES, a new musical directed by Jose Zayas. THE QUEEN BEES will play a two week limited engagement at Queens Theatre (14 United Nations Avenue South, Flushing Meadows Corona Park). Performances begin Friday, May8and continue through Sunday, May17.Performances areFridays at 8pm, Saturdays at 2pm and 8pm, Sundays at 3pm, with an additional matinee on Friday, May 15 at 2pm. Tickets are available at www.queenstheatre.org and range from $25-$42.

MultiStages to Present COMIDA DE PUTA (F%&KING LOUSY FOOD) at The West Side Theatre, 4/8-26

MULTISTAGES THEATRE is pleased to announce the world premiere of Desi Moreno-Penson's Comida de Puta (F%&king Lousy Food), directed by producing artistic director Lorca Peress. Comida de Puta (F%&king Lousy Food) will play a limited engagement at The West End Theatre (Church of St Paul and St Andrew at 263 West 86th Street, New York, NY 10024). Performances begin Wednesday, April 8th and continue through Sunday, April 26th. Opening Night is Friday, April 10th at 8 p.m.

The Public Sets Spotlight Series Lineup from Emerging Writers Group

The Public Theater announced the line-up for the popular Spotlight Series of free staged readings of new plays by The Public's Emerging Writers Group, beginning on Tuesday, April 7 and running through Tuesday, May 26 at the Sheen Center Black Box Theater (18 Bleecker Street). Now in its seventh year, the Emerging Writers Group is an important part of The Public's commitment and long legacy of supporting current and future generations of our country's most important writers.

STAGE TUBE: Marco Antonio Rodriguez Talks Off-Broadway's BARCELO ON THE ROCKS

The new off-Broadway play, Barcelo Con Hielo (Barcelo On The Rocks), directed by Jose Zayas, is currently running at NYC's Repertorio Espagñol, performed in Spanish with English and Spanish subtitles. USELESS, Saviana Stanescu's dark-humored drama about human trafficking, ends its limited run at IRT Theater, downtown Manhattan. Two River Theater Highlights Grants, New Programs, Partnerships and More in 2013-14

Two River Theater, under the leadership of Artistic Director John Dias and Managing Director Michael Hurst, has concluded its 20th Anniversary Season, highlighted by far-reaching new-play development activities supported by the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation, the Harold and Mimi Steinberg Charitable Trust, and The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation. The season was bookended by the Two River directorial debuts of acclaimed actors Joel Grey (Paul Osborn's On Borrowed Time) and Michael Cumpsty (Wendy Wasserstein's Third).

MANUEL VERSUS THE STATUE OF LIBERTY Set for NYMF Today

One immigrant's true story was so ridiculous, it inspired playwright Noemi de la Puente to turn it into a musical comedy. 'Manuel versus The Statue of Liberty' will be included in The New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) this July. The musical, which features music by Howard Post with book and lyrics by Noemi de la Puente, will be presented as a developmental reading at The Studio Theatre at Theatre Row, 410 W. 42nd St. in New York, today, July 10 at 4pm and 8pm and July 13 at 3pm. Admission is free.

Repertorio Espagnol to Debut BARCELO CON HIELO, Today, 2014

Repertorio Espagnol has announced BARCELÓ CON HIELO (BARCELO ON THE ROCKS) as part of their 2013-14 season. The world premiere of Marco Antonio Rodriguez's 2012 play -- winner of the MetLife 'Nuestras Voces' playwriting competition -- will debut June 13th, 2014, directed by Jose Zayas.

Daphne Rubin-Vega to Join Off-Broadway's LOS MONOLOGOS DE LA VAGINA, 6/3

The House that will not Stand will be performed at Yale Repertory Theatre (1120 Chapel Street) today, April 18-May 10. Opening Night is Thursday, April 24.
