The historic Off-Broadway theater clearly displays its stance on gender identity issues.

Theatre Development Fund (TDF), the not-for-profit service organization for the performing arts, honored Disney Theatrical Productions and Thomas Schumacher, its president and producer, last night at TDF's Gala on Monday, March 14 at Manhattan's historic Gotham Hall (1356 Broadway @ 36th Street, NYC).

Roundabout Theatre Company presents the first-ever New York revival of Alfred Uhry and Robert Waldman's musical comedy THE ROBBER BRIDEGROOM. The production opened just last night, March 13, at the Laura Pels Theatre in the Harold and Miriam Steinberg Center for Theatre (111 West 46th Street). This fall, Lincoln Center Theater will join forces with Jujamcyn Theaters to bring William Finn and James Lapine's Tony Award-winning musical Falsettos back to Broadway, it was announced today. Falsettos will begin previews Thursday, September 29 and open on Thursday, October 27 at the Walter Kerr Theatre (219 West 48 Street). Lapine will return to helm the production.

Not only that, but special presenters also include Bernadette Peters and Joel Grey, with Brian Stokes Mitchell slated to perform.

DC Foundation is pleased to announce that Andrew Rannells will host the "Mr. Abbott" Award Gala honoring James Lapine on Monday, October 19, 2015. The event will include special performances by Bernadette Peters, Christine Ebersole, Christian Borle, and Marin Mazzie with appearances by Stephen Sondheim, William Finn, and others. Directed by Leigh Silverman, the "Mr. Abbott" Award Gala will take place at Stage 48 (605 West 48th Street). The event will begin at 6:30 p.m.

Recently Deadline sat down with Jeremy Gerard and Jordan Roth to discuss the state of the Broadway industry. Gerard has been covering the shifting fortunes of the Jujamcyn Theatres since it became one of the biggest competitors for the Shubert and Nederlander organizations in the late 1980s. Roth is the current majority owner of Jujamcyn and is the youngest power broker.
