Lissa deGuzman will be taking over the role of Jasmine in the North American touring production of Disney's Aladdin beginning Wednesday, August 8 in Buffalo. DeGuzman, who previously understudied the iconic role on tour, succeeds original tour cast member Isabelle McCalla, who will play her final performance as Jasmine on August 5 in Boston at The Boston Opera House.

The mania with which the late Robin Williams brilliantly voiced the Genie in the 1992 Disney animated film ALADDIN infuses every inch of Casey Nicholaw's high-octane Broadway musical production. Casting for the upcoming Boston engagement of the long-awaited hit Broadway musical, Disney's Aladdin has been announced. Performances at the Boston Opera House play July 5 - August 5, 2018 as part of the 2017-2018 Lexus Broadway In Boston Season.

Disney Theatrical Productions has announced that original Broadway cast members Adam Jacobs (Aladdin), Michael James Scott (Genie - also original Australian Genie) and Courtney Reed (Jasmine) will reunite for five weeks of the Los Angeles premiere engagement of Disney's ALADDIN, from Saturday, January 13 - Sunday, February 18, 2018.

Back in 2011 many of us here in Seattle were subjected to a very different version of Disney's Aladdin than what you might see currently playing at the Paramount Theatre. Also for many of us that previous version left a bad taste in our mouths for the property. A property that we loved in its original movie form 25 years ago (wow, was it that long ago). In celebration of outstanding achievement in high school musical theater performances, Broadway In Chicago has announced the award recipients of the Sixth Annual Illinois High School Musical Theater Awards: Justin Smusz of Bolingbrook, IL (Benet Academy) as BEST ACTOR for his portrayal of Chad in ALL SHOOK UP and Carly Meyer of Northbrook, IL (Glenbrook North High School) as BEST ACTRESS for her portrayal of Hodel in FIDDLER ON THE ROOF.
